i think it's due to the bigger bassline presence and less present melodic reverberated lead. But I'm guessing. To be honest I discovered hard trance in 2012 thanks to a tech trance channel. I moved from tech trance to happy hardcore to uk hardcore and to hard trance the arguably best genre of all.
@@EdgeOfLight Of all the Trance subgenres, I prefer uplifting. It's amazing how from one subgenre to another, even if they have the smallest differences, the artists are all completely different. I tried tech trance a few times, but it's faster and harder than what I'm used to. I also tried happy hardcore, it's also pretty fast and lot of vocals. Happy listening!
there's hardly a bassline in regular (uplifting) trance. It's more hard trance or tech although generally hard trance is way more euphoric, much more powerful lead in hard trance. Here you can hear the overbearing bassline taking the better part of every track
