This is an introduction to understanding a typical set of boat plans. This is really a basic primer for those who are unfamiliar with them. I'll go into greater detail in another video.
The plans shown are of the Canadian Ugo canoe built by J.H.Rushton. These plans were purchased from the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake NY. I built a 14' version of this canoe for the Vancouver International Airport where it remains on display alongside an Inuvialuit kayak I also built. They can be found in their International arrivals area. There is a second canoe in the display built by Rod Tait of Orca boats.
