The Church of San Cristovo and the medieval necropolis of A Pedra do Home serve as a lure for the initial detour of this last stage of the Celtic Way.
Then, we start the march from Portomouro ascending the valley of the Tambre River by the DP-0701 road ⚠️ Attention because this ascent has been modified for the benefit of the pilgrims since it avoids the asphalt and goes through the golf course Real Aeroclub de Santiago.
The ascent makes a stop in the visit to the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Belén, already in the municipality of Santiago de Compostela, and then continues to the mountains overlooking the valley of Rego de Anduriña, where the place of O Roxido is located.
In this pleasant rural nucleus of houses there are some petroglyphs that we could not decipher clearly due to the position of the sun that did not generate the right shadows. There we leave you the challenge of discovering them.
After overcoming the pass between Cotón de Ladeiñas and Cotón do Clavo we arrive at Mercuto, where we take advantage of a bar to regain some strength.
The Way then progresses through the valley of Rego de Vrins and climbs the Modesto Anido and Fontecova Mountains until it reaches the summit of Monte Pedroso, a height that gives us one of the most fantastic views of the city of Santiago de Compostela and its Cathedral.
The rest of the kilometers takes us on a Via Crucis to one of the best entrances of the Camino de Santiago that ends our pilgrimage in the coveted Plaza del Obradoiro.
