@madan First, we need to understand what difference GST has made. I hope you remember the early service tax. We had to pay tax for tax. Ok, now GST has made us pay only one tax. Still, we have to remember that right from waking up in the morning and till we go to bed, we are paying tax for everything. From the water we use in our toilet to the bed we sleep in. With this, we are paying our income tax too. Now my question is, why are we paying so much tax on a daily basis? Second, why should the government bring down the GST levels? Why doesn't the government exclude day-to-day products, like Srinivasan sir said? So as far as I think GST for essential commodities should be removed or income tax should be removed. Yes, we need taxes to run such a big democracy, but it should be people-friendly and simplified.

GST has shown visible increase in tax collection and infrastructure development. Earlier collecting tax itself was a tidious job . Any law during implementation has its own drawback, we have to evolve and as a GST tax payer for 4 organisation I feel that fixing and collecting GST can be simplified

As my perception GST is good for our nation. I hope government will to reduce percentage of GST. How GST affect the business people? It's creating huge difference for entrepreneurs.because people willing to buy a product at low price. For example: I regularly buy a cake5times in a month. Cake price is 10rs and add gst 1.5rs totally cake price automatically increase.so what I will do . I buy only2-3cake because i not have a enough money. It affects the sales for restaurant. If gst percentage reduced i have chance for buy one more cake . so many people are here to buy if GST persentage reduced. And it's help to develop our indian economy

Compared to earlier taxation, GST has been very useful, especially for startups. Don't need to depend on Auditors for filing taxes. We can do it ourselves. Tax percentage definitely needs more standardization. I know it is complex as it involves raw materials, type of manufacturing and End Use, but hope to have better solution.

My take on the issue. 1. Business owners can definitely bring up their difficulties and challenges with the respective authorities. 2. The authorities may or may not be able to resolve all the issues as they will have to consider many more aspects than the convenience of the business owners alone. 3. There a few bigots who comment insensibly thinking that raising such issues is a victory scored against the current regime. 4. Huge respect for the entire forum who handled this very professionally. I can see both the hotelier and the minister handling this without personal ego. 5. The hotelier brought up a point where he mentions that the MLA herself asks the hotel regarding this. We can infer that the MLA pays and intends to pay for the stuff she consumes in the hotel which is a good sign. 6. Using caste to criticize anyone is completely against the law and condemnable. My take on GST 1. Tax is necessary for any government to run and provide services. 2. GST is not new. It just replaced a plethora of taxes. Earlier we had sales tax (replaced by VAT), resale tax, service tax, excise duty, octroi duty, customs duty and a few more. Is it not a simplification? 3. Also GST has brought tax uniformity across the country. 4. If everyone, pays taxes properly, the percentage of levy will come down. 5. There is a composite scheme for small businesses which simplifies the compliances. Overall, I can say that this issue has broken several myths regarding GST.

As a indian resident working in overseas, i feel the concept of GST is totally misconceptual & not practical too. As per my opinion we need to apply flat tax rate for everything. For general understanding, I would like to include/mention that we have been paid taxes for everthing from Land Tax, House/Building Tax, Road Tax, Income Tax & lot more to say. Then also our local public peoples will suffer everyday.
Wealth distribution is not equal in India which means 62% of Indian wealth is with 1% of billionaires but this is common in most of the countries but they are making wealth tax from billionaires. 64% of GST revenue is from middle class and lower middle class people but top 10 billionaires is just paying 4% tax. Inflation is very high in India and there is no sufficient income for more 40% people. Upon 2021 report there is almost 113 daily wage employees are suiciding. Here is the solution if we collect just 3% of wealth tax from the 1% billionaires then for the next three years we can manage national health mission, if we collect 5% then we can run tribal health care for over 7 years. If we collect 2.5 % tax from 100 billionaires or 5% tax from top 10 billionaires we can rejuvenate 150 million child labors.

I thought that I have to pay only ₹80,000 but eventually i came to know that this service is covered under gst and gst amount is ₹14,400 (80,000*18%). I personally see that 18% rate is too high. Totally I paid 94,400 for the course...

Bro, it is true that taxition in India is a frustation to all. Asking minimal amount of tax acceptable but the thing is that India is not doing in thst way. Taxation will lead to country's devolepment but it is important that it is asked in a simplifired way. In addtion to it people also should understand the simple GST rules in India and this is not possible without simplification. If it is simplified a better way of devolepment for the country mybe there and also the people would be able to understand the GST rules.

Hi madan, a little late to answering your question Straight to the answer yes, GST is benefiting me. Coming from someone who's very active in what is going in the government health sector, it's safe to say that our taxes are properly distributed and is used in developing government hospitals, the fault lies in the corrupted officers/doctors. Recently The central government had ordered a list of items necessary to be kept in the hospital (including beds, masks, oxygen cylinders) but it is subjected to misuse due to corrupt individuals (who take these items to their private clinics/hospitals). I'm not here to defend the unreasonably high tax regulations. Yes the tax is high yes the development is slow but it's not entirely the central government's fault (there are so many people that are poor that don't pay taxes and need help in lifting their social status. Collecting less tax in the intention of development for "everyone "is just impossible) . The state has to take responsibility too. And as for the bun and cream issue I think this might give a clear view. Someone who wants to save his money would buy it separately while someone who is privileged enough to not care about tax would buy a cream bun. And so in a way government is trying to take more tax from rich/privileged people.
In GST, for essential commodities, they will charge less tax( for food , gst rate is 5% sgst and cgst combined). For high valued or less consumable commodity, they charge high tax i.e upto 28%. Ippa Vara GST dhan bro correct hu. Food ku ellamae 5% than (both sgst and cgst combined).

I am a student of that nearby hotel's University. Due to that hotel's poor parking facility, cars sometimes occupies pedestrians path, and many accidents were occured. Nobody will question this.

GST is required. However, it must be flat 10% for everything ( jncluding petrol), tobaco and alcohol). Unprocessed food (like rice, wheat, pluses etc) , medicines, medical services and all types of insurance must be 0%. Remove insurance out of incometax deductions. Everything else flat 10% For Invome tax upto 10lavks must be taxfree, then must progrsivelly increase. All indian citizens & residents above 18 must come under tax perview.( incl farmers)
