THE FACT THAT BROWN HAIRED GIRL CRADLES THE DOLL THE SAME EXACT WAY SHE HELD THE BLONDE DURING THE DISASTER... MY HEART ACHES

I’m revisiting this again and I’m realizing something about how the story was introduced. In the first half, it allows us to assume the girl just has a creepy obsession over some other girl. There’s pictures of her all over the wall, numerous dolls, and the general vibe is extremely unsettling. It’s only when we get the context in the transition scene that we realize how deeply sad it is, and it almost feels like it’s intentionally throwing those assumptions back in our face.

I personally think that the design of the long neck woman isn’t just for the creepy factor. In every shot that she’s holding the doll, her head is extended past the doll and her hair is down, seemingly creating a physical wall between her dead lover and the disaster that took her life. It’s a visual of how long neck lady would go back and in time and die protecting her in a heartbeat.

The way VIVINOS exaggerates characters to make them creepier is unironically one of the most disturbing and scary things ive seen. Its different enough to be unsettling without looking out of place

Man, I cried when they embraced and it transitioned to the brunette alone. I feel so bad, I thought the brunette was a villian until she was attacked and I saw she was only grieving the blonde. This video is so devastating 😭

That transition to reveal who the blonde and brown haired girls once were was breathtaking. I gasped when I saw it. These animations are truly beautiful and haunting at the same time, and I hope I will be able to animate like this someday.

In Korea, the Jordan river means death because they have a belief that there would be afterlife/death land over the Jordan river in our cultural belief. (however, it is not a religious belief.) If a person says "I was almost crossed Jordan river," then it means "I was close to the death" & "In my dream, my grandma/grandpa waves hands to me from across over Jordan river," means "In my dream, my grandma/grandpa called me to come to the death land" & "Someone crossed the Jordan river last night," means "Someone died yesterday." I hope it helps to understand the title! :)

The transition of styles-from this gloomy, paint-like, messy reality to this clean, colorful and dream-like state-is honestly so beautiful yet so horrifying. The music also plays along so fittingly with the jarring piano to an abundant orchestra while still keeping some of that terror in the score. In any perspective, there is no happiness: she reminisces only of that time in her past where the present is nothing but the heartbreaking reality.

My theory: The brown haired lady and Blonde girl went to the beach to have some fun. The two were lovers for a long time, we can see by the photos of Blonde girls graduation in Brown woman's house. While at the beach, there's some sort of explosion or fire. Brown woman rushes to blonde and they hug right as there's a blast from right behind the Blonde girl (You can see that as they hug there seems to be a sudden burst from behind blonde girl and the animation style changes back). The blast kills Blonde girl but Blonde girls' body works as a sort of shield and protects Brown woman. But we can see that she still received a lot of burns and other injuries, we can tell because at the end you can see her back and shoulders and they look burnt. Blonde girl was extremely special to Brown girl. When she dies, Brown girl sees the world as dark and dirty without any color. We can also see that she herself looks deformed (not from the fire but her long neck and strange face) maybe she blames herself for the blonde girls death and thinks of herself as a monster, that's why she looks like that. She also stops taking care of herself and her house and clothes are dirty and messy (you can also see by the fly thats in her house in the beginning.) Brown woman makes dolls of blonde girl and takes it with herself, and at the end we can see her hugging the doll tha same way she hug the blonde girl right before her death. There's also a song lyric around this part "Maybe I don't have to cry anymore". Perhaps she's coming to terms with the death and is letting her go, stopping to hug the doll/blonde girl one last time. Another thing, the title is "Jordan River". Crossing the Jordan River is a metaphor for death. So yeah, hope u like :)

This might actually be the best one so far. The way it just switches between two widely different artstyles so effortlessly to show the contrast between the happy days with her lover and the time after her passing where she's seen spiraling down emotionally and mentally is just 10/10 stuff. Fucking incredible.

I feel like a fire or explosion happened to the girl with the blonde hair, and the one with brown hair couldn't save her. The girl with brown hair then grows up severely missing her and that's why she has all the pictures and the doll, and when the jerks who take the doll and cut it up symbolizes the incident for her.

처음에는 무서운 곡인가 했는데 자막 띄워서 가사를 보니까... 공포가 아니라 슬픔이네요. 1:35 여기부터 눈물터지는데요ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 초반에 인형 솜이 터지는건 분노가 아니라 절망같아요. 견디지 못하고 터진 슬픔같습니다. 인형으로 소중한 상대를 대체 할수 없다는걸 이미 알아요. 그런데도 인형조차 없으면 견딜수가 없는거죠

So my rundown of this animation is as follows: •The Camera Girl once had a friend/lover whom she was really close with,unfortunately a typhoon or a hurricane came and killed the blondie. (we can assume it's hurricane due to wind shown at 2:01) •The Camera Girl survived but she was physically deformed due to great trauma her body (and mind) suffered. •She became obsessed with the girl unable to let go. All of the pictures showing small details but no face (0:24),i believe,is showing how hard Camera Girl is trying to remember her,to soak up all the details,but she starts forgetting her,the way her face looked and the smile she had on,it's starting to fade. •She is trying to make a doll to capture all of her before she forgets her but can't seem to remember her face or her smile or doesn't want to. •We see a fly stand on her face and she doesn't seem bothered (0:33),this might paint the picture of death but the one on the inside. (also provable by her ragged hair and untrimmed nails 0:32) •She carries her doll everywhere in a hugging position which is last position she was in with the Blondie. (comparison 1:08 - 2:09) •Some people start bullying her and cut off the doll's head,from the amount of other dolls we saw (0:58) this might be frequent,yet this time she snaps and with scissors we can see she kills all of the people. (2:21) •The amount of heads we see at (0:49) as well as all the "wigs" we see at (0:23) tells me she is killing people until she can create the perfect doll. •One of them is likely the corpse with a big slash across its face we see at the beginning. (0:49) All in all very sad story,my brain can't process the picture at 1:04 so if anyone sees what it is,tell me. Feel free to add your ideas,someone also pointed that her neck can be that way because she is carrying the guilt of Blondie's death,likely survivor's guilt syndrome. *Edit*: Damn this got pretty popular,i wanted to thank those who told me what picture at 1:04 is,my brain was unable to process it at first,as many others pointed the cause of death might've been some explosion or fire incident (burn marks visible at 2:12). @star strike pointed out in the comments that eyes of the head at 0:49 move,which could be Cadaveric spasm also known as postmortem movement (muscular stiffening that occurs after death) but as this is an animation it's unlikely they would just leave it there. -As for the name of the song the Jordan river is an actual river in middle east,on it's own it doesn't have some significance to this song, however at 1:27 the lyrics of the song say "if i cross the Jordan". The crossing of the Jordan has biblical meaning in Christianity,in (Joshua 3:15-17) the Israelites crossed the river to the Promised Land, symbolizing heaven which would probably explain lyrics at 2:15, somehow i believe The Camera Girl believes this is her punishment,lyrics at the beginning say (0:27 - 0:37) "there's not a single day in prophecy calendar of like that i'm not alone" which could indicate that she believes some prophecy or punishment was placed upon her (however do be considerate of possible translation errors). Some other people theorized different things,none of them are necessarily wrong,it's fun to read other people's interpretations.

This is just depressing, it's the feeling that you can't turn back time no matter how you tried and if it's gone, it's gone. I think, she's trying to preserve the memory of blonde haired girl, her light of her life.

1.긴머리와 금발머리는 절친 혹은 연인 관계로 평소에도 긴머리가 자주 사진을 남겨주곤 했다. 2.금발머리의 졸업을 맞아 떠난 여행지에서 사고가 발생했고 금발머리를 감싸 안아 구하려했지만 긴머리 자신만 살아남았다. 3.긴머리는 살아남았지만 사고의 여파로 화상과 기형적인 몸이 되었으며, 기억을 잃는다. 4. 금발머리와의 마지막이 기억 나지 않는 긴 머리는 사진을 토대로 인형을 수없이 만든 끝에 가장 닮은 인형을 만들어 낸다. 5.알수없는 그리움과 상실, 현실적인 고통으로 인해 정처없이 떠돌던 긴 머리는 이미 근방에서 유명해졌다. 결국 한 무리가 괴롭히고 인형을 빼앗아 목을 자르고 만다. 6.목이 잘리는 인형과 눈을 마주친 긴머리가 사고 당일을 기억하게 된다. 7.괴롭이던 무리들을 가위로 해치고 금발머리 인형을 꼭 끌어안는다. 마치 사고에서 지켜주려는 듯이.

폭발 사고가 맞는 것 같은 게 둘이 껴안을 때 재 같은 것도 날아다니고 하늘 색도 그렇고 바람도 그렇고

비비노스님 노래 뮤비 중에서 처음으로 경고문이 없는 영상이기도 하고 가장 기괴하고 슬픈 영상이 아닌가 싶네요... 행복해하는 두 소녀의 모습이 한순간에 붉은 빛과 으스러지는 장면이 약간 애니메이션 '맨발의 겐'에서 나오는 원폭 투하의 장면이 연상되기도 하고... 이 영상은 특히 다른 영상보다 여러갈래로 해석이 될 수 있는것 같아서 더 좋은것 같아요! 비비노스님 이번에도 좋은 영상 감사합니다😊

I’ve rewatched this so many times. I’m not usually the emotional sort, but... God... the chills I get when the colors and style change completely and then the “explosion” of them reverting back... plus the faces of horror on the girls right before the fire consumes them, but the brunette running back to the blonde one despite her fear... it gets me every time.

Honestly? I think this is my favorite one yet. A lot of the others have been cute stories that surprised us into horror--this one was a scary story where we kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but the other shoe was a beautiful, colorful memory that turned horror into sorrow--even the end shot of the bodies around her wasn't as scary, not as heart wrenching as the way that humanity and sorrow hit just before it. This is spectacular.

To the main character, her dead lover symbolizes the most lively and beautiful moment of her life. That is why she is obsessed with her doll. When the mobs lynch and ruin her doll. She is full of despair and kills them all with scissors.

이번 영상 애니메이팅이 진짜 대박이네요.. 모든 장면들이 다 멋있지만 특히!! 상큼한 분위기로 쑉 넘어가는 그 순간이 .. 진짜 ., 👍 음향도 같이 뒤바뀌니까 영상속으로 빨려들어갈것같은 기분이에요!!

우연치 않게 폭발에 휘말린 두사람중 결국 한명은 죽고 한명은 그런 그녀를 그리워 하며 열심히 인형을 만들어 그녀를 대신하지만 그런 그녀를 안좋게 본 양아치들이 인형을 망가뜨리자 죽여버린건가 ㅎㄷㄷ

평소에도 엄청난 실력이셨지만 이번엔 더 굉장한데요????????? 진짜 프레임 느낌이나 영상 분위기 그림체가 완전.... 협업하셔서 더 색다른 것같기도 하고.... 마치 평소엔 tv애니메이션 같다면 이번건 극장판 애니 같아요 진짜...입이 떡벌어져요...

I think that the scene where the men cut up the doll isn't meant to be literal, rather it symbolizes how she feels that the men who set off the bomb took the blonde girl away from her.

노랑 머리를 닮은 인형들을 계속 만드는데, 그게 죽었을 때 엉망인 모습에서부터 원래 정상적인 모습을 기억하는대로 인형으로 만든 거 같아요. 옛날 모습보다 시체 모습이 더 강렬하니까 벽에 살아있을 때 찍은 사진 붙어두고 씻지도 않고 성치도 않은 몸으로 인형을 만들다가 진짜 닮은 인형을 만들어서 꼭 끌어안고 다니는 거. (0:52~1:05) 그래서 원래 처음에 인형 팔에서 솜이 튀어나올 땐, (0:46) 무덤덤했는데 남자애들이 인형한테 가위 들이미니까 표정 일그러지면서 우는 것 같네요. 인형 목이 잘리면서 사고 당시 기억이 떠오르는데 날리는 나무조각에 끌어안는 팔이 다치면서 현재 그 팔에 흉터가 크게 남은 게 보여요. (1:35~2:11) 노란 머리랑 바다에 놀러 갔다가 해일에 휘말린 거 같다는 느낌이 드네요. 사진 찍다가 급류에 휩쓸리기 전에 서로 급하게 끌어안고.

I can see Vivinos making a timeline where creepy former humans exist yet was corrupted from their grief, just like with Vivinos(es) other projects.

If you look closely you can see dandelions being blown into the frame before the explosion becomes visible. Something so innocent being a precursor to something so tragic...haunting!

사람들이 여주 인형을 뺏고 괴롭히다가 인형이 망가지니 갑자기 과거회상이 나옵니다 과거회상 뒤 주변인들이 쓰러져있고 여주가 인형을 끌어안고 있는 걸 보니 그동안 여주가 이성을 잃고 전부 해친 것 같습니다

the ending scene where she is on the floor holding the doll with bodies around them is probably her remembering the aftermath of the explosion

how tf does this artstyle have so much capability, first to draw the cartoon-ish girls at the beach and then to draw the realistic hair and eyes like in 0:32 like maybe i'm being dumb and that counts as two artstyles but the transition between them is so good i- how

My heart was beating so fast through this entire song, so much that it feels as if my chest is going to explode. There’s so much to talk about just from reading and watching the video. It has such a deep meaning, from the house the black haired girl lives in, to the way she was designed. I love how the black haired girl’s neck and hair is long and the way she holds the doll that represents the blonde haired girl or her lover. She holds the doll close to her chest as she did with her lover when the tragedy happened, her neck is supposed to creep over the doll so her long hair can block and protect the doll. Truly a masterpiece, if only I saw this sooner. Outstanding work! ❤️

The animation from 1:36 to 2:12 are my favourite, look at smooth as butter animation. I like everything in the animation but the impact showing this scene after her getting beaten up to her past shows the sentimental value of what the doll represents crashes like a derailed train.

In Korea, there is an expression 'wait as if one's throat would fall out' it's means "I was looking far away with my head up to see if the person I promised would come" and "I waited that long". I think that the woman's long neck in the video was also a way to express her long wait for a blonde woman. First of all, the title "Jordan River" refers to a river that a dead person crosses to go to the other world. Also, pay attention to the lyrics of the song in the video. "Since I was born," "destiny written in the palm of one's hand" "I was always alone in the prophecies of my life." Looking at this, the woman looks so hopeless and pessimistic about her fate. Still, she lives by making dolls that resemble her loved ones (family, lover, friends, etc.). As you can see in the video, she made so many dolls, but most of them seem to have failed. (They may not have one eye, have large stitches on their face, or have no eyes at all.) Then, she moves around with the doll, which is supposed to be her only success. The villagers, who disliked her walking around like that, beat her up, harassed her, and even robbed her of her precious doll and destroyed it. The lyrics of this song are like this. "The day I lay down in the ground naked". "If you cross the Jordan River alone," "Don't I have to cry after that?" She must have been thinking of dying alone when she was being bullied. But the moment the villagers destroy her doll, her past recollections begin. In the past, black-haired women, who used to smile happily while taking pictures with blonde women, lose their blonde hair due to certain incidents (explosions, natural disasters, etc.). She hurriedly embraces a blonde and tries to protect her, but eventually remembers the past, which she couldn't, and, as with past events, she gets angry at the villagers who try to steal her from her and kills everyone. Instead of being scary with jumpscares like with "Beloved", this song involved a deep sorrow within me and the other one did as well. This one reminded me of holding on to something so tightly even if it is gone and can never be gotten hold of again. Her past regret of her love interest or important person dying made her want to preserve her memory in the most concrete and cherished possible manner. And those men just trampled on it and ruined her last link to her long lost love. They truly are merciless beings who do not understand a grieving person's heart and they forcefully made her open her eyes and realize that her love is long gone no matter how much she tries to channel her or keep a remembrance of her. Even so, she desperately tries very hard to hold on to her love's final fragments until she realizes that she is gone forever and she has truly lost her once and for all. So far, this is the most depressing for me aside from Beloved.

人形から金髪女子に変わる瞬間が素晴らしく好き。そしてその後の海外ニキが考察してるけど、恐らく爆発に巻き込まれる瞬間の2人が抱き合っているシーン、髪の揺れを映像で表現するの上手すぎて鳥肌たった。2人が爆発に巻き込まれた瞬間が悲しすぎる。この動画いろいろと映像の作りが凄くて好き。

와 원자폭탄이구나 노랑머리랑 갈색머리가 놀 때 원자 폭탄이 터졌고 노랑머리를 지키고 싶어 감싸았지만 결국 노랑머리는 죽고 갈색머리는 기괴한 모습으로 변하고 노랑머리를 그리워해 그녀를 닮은 수많은 인형을 만들며 다른 사람들이 그 인형을 자르자 그 날이 따올라 슬퍼하고 고통스러워하는...와..추가로 마지막에 가위로 사람들을 다 죽인 것 같네요...

2:07 많은 시간이 흘렀지만 주인공의 시간은 흐르지 못하고 아직 사고의 순간에 멈춰있네요 소중한 사람을 보내줄수가 없어서 닮은 인형을 한없이 안고만 있는게 너무 안쓰러워요

So basically, this girl lost her bestfriend/love in a typhoon and became really depressed. To try to deny that she died she makes these dolls thinking that its her friend. And when those people tried to cut off her head she was scared that she'll lose her again and proceeded to commit massacre. bruh.

after a few years and coming back to rewatch vivinos earlier videos, i really felt that their way of illustrating the stories is creepy yet breathtakingly stunning. the colour transition back when they were still young and together, fades with bright cold colours to the reality. i can’t help but cry after watching such astonishing video, its absolute perfect animation flows along the saddening song, it’s so good.

헐..원폭인가봐..아무튼 폭발로 인해서 금발은 죽고 갈발은 살아남았지만 방사능 피폭 같은 이유로 외형이 저렇게 변한것 같네요 우울하고 좌절스러운 현실과 너무 행복하고 아름다웠던 과거의 대비가 정말 좋아요 특히 1:35 에서 너무 소름돋았음 ㅠㅠ 진짜 대박

The shot of the flashback with them at the beach or wherever it was looked SO good! Reminded me of some kind of vaporwave aesthetic with the way the colors were saturated in it and stuff. The transition into the present day of the brown-haired girl holding the doll was perfect, too.

The brown haired girl tried to protect the blonde but the explosion came right behind the blonde haired girl. It killed her but was able to protect the brown haired girl instead. She now wants to protect the blonde hair girl one last time, with that hug.

one thing i noticed is how this intentionally inverts the formula of their other animations, especially my september. we start off seeing the brown haired girl as creepy and deformed, leading you to assume she's probably obsessive or stalking the blonde girl. hell, that's probably why the bullies attack her, they probably see her as creepy too. it's only when you get the flashback do you realise that she's not malformed and in darkness because she's a stalker, she's mourning.....

If she lives in a creepy cabin in the middle of the forest, I'm heading out to the forest. To summon *C A M E R A G I R L*

This video is extremely interesting because its the inverse of most of Vivinos' videos prior and following it. Usually we see wholesome and cutes scene before we are shown a darker side that tarnishes the context of the joyful scenes we see, but instead this video starts with the grotesque and left to assume negative things, but then its subverted and we learn the tragic context as to why things are this way

Everyone is talking about the plot but can we talk about the ANIMATION??? It’s so beautiful!!! Especially the part at the end where the two girls hug, it’s fantastic!

원자폭탄? 그 설이 맞는거 같네요ㅠㅠ 거기 휘말려서 노란친구는 죽었고, 긴머리 친구는 원자폭탄 때 피폭 영향으로 몸이 기형적으로 변해버린거고... 죽은 친구를 그리워하며 인형을 만들고 기형적인 모습을 혐오하며 괴롭히는 사람들. 결국엔 주인공이 모두 죽였네요

와 색감 진짜 쩐다 이번에는 공포보다는 색감이랑 느낌에 진짜 갈아넣으셨구나 ㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷ

これ系のシリーズほんと好き過ぎて、最近一日に一回は必ず見るくらい中毒性があります…美しさと衝撃がヤバいです。 大好きです😭💓
