Well, folks, this one caught everyone off guard! The past few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster for Dodgers fans. After slipping into a rough patch, losing series to lesser teams, Los Angeles seems to be finding its stride again. Our bullpen continues to lead in innings pitched in the MLB, but sits at 18th place in ERA.
Despite a shaky start to the season, the injury news for the Dodgers is far from uplifting. Last week, Brusdar Graterol had to halt his pitching progression for the second time, and now Jason Heyward is dealing with similar back issues after being sidelined in early April.
Heyward was expected to make a comeback during our series against the Diamondbacks, but he's still out of action. Dave Roberts mentioned Heyward isn't recovering as expected and is currently out of baseball activities.
While Andy Pages has filled in admirably for Heyward in the lineup and outfield, this prolonged injury is far from ideal for Heyward, who's only a Dodger until the end of this season.
As if that weren't enough, our bullpen took another hit. On Monday, Ryan Brasier was placed on the 15-day injured list with a calf injury, and now we're awaiting the results of an MRI scheduled for Wednesday.
Brasier hasn't replicated his 2023 performance, and his absence is a significant loss for a team that heavily relies on bullpen/opener days this season.
It's a tough time for the Dodgers, but we'll continue to support our team. And now, we want to hear from you, Dodgers fans! What do you make of this news?
