The Middle Atlas, a high area spanning in Morocco’s heart, a reservoir providing about four-fifths national water needs, a range of mountains stretching along 350 kilometres from the north-east to the southwest split into two areas:
- A higher one in the east, which attitude surpasses 3000 meters
- West plateau likely oscillating between 1000 meters and 2000 meters of attitude
A mountain chain which rich biodiversity and authentic character gave worldwide importance according to the standards of Ramsar Convention on Wetlands Considering its high altitude and permanent snow.
over its vast surfaces, this chain is one important water tower for Morocco, likely an elixir of life.
