P0 420 code can be 1 or 2 issues most of the time. The oxygen sensor between the engine and the sensor (dirty or bad) is the most common cause. Any other causes really can only be spotted by someone qualified. But please don't start buying and replacing parts. It's less expensive to take it in for service.

Well I have two catalytic converter and both 02 sensors and I still have the code p0420 I can't even pass my car inspection, I don't know what else to do.
Had this code come up on my Camry. So before I try and go spend money on cleaners or buying a new Cat. I just disconnected the battery to reset code. Been 2 years and I passed smog without spending money. So before spending money try this. If it had came back on yes I would of tried a cleaner .
I have 3 different questions/scenarios I'm curious to know the answer to. ¹ What if I replace my cat converter completely. Will it rectify any other issues and get rid of the code? ² if I use the duralube severe treatment, but my check engine light is still on, does that mean or didn't work? ³ what's the cheapest and simplest possible solution to clear the code?
