Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I just copied your exact setup for my home karaoke system and it is awesome. I’m tech savvy enough to know that things need to be plugged in in order to work, but that’s about the extent of my electronics knowledge. This video made everything so easy, I really appreciate it!
Dude, you’re the only one that has what I needed. I have a KTV set with wireless mic going into mixer similar to yours, but the KTV has mic or rca input to, but doesn’t output to the tv, just it’s own audio. And my tv only has optical out, so I need the two boxes you have there to make my setup work and send it to my soundbar.
Wow, great vid. This is super helpful in my quest to set up a decent karaoke system for my wife. Really appreciate all the responses you offer to your viewers' questions as well.
Thank you for this very informative and thorough instructional video. Did everything minus the splitter. It took my awhile as I didn’t realize until later that I had to change to Optical output setting to PCM.
Awesome detail and layout of the video! Out of many home made karaoke setup videos I've looked at, yours is the most thorough! Valid links, affordable gear and even multiple singer setup links!! And to top it off, you're Filipino! As if that couldn't be any more of a guarantee of a reliable karaoke setup! xD
Thank you for such a great information, but I can’t get audio from tv,any idea? I will really appreciate it I have Klipsch 9.2 connected to a Marantz Sr6014
Thanks so much for detailing this out -- I've just started trying to figure out how to setup a similar karaoke system and you've pretty much answered all my questions!!
Thank you so much, again!!! I set up my last karaoke watching your YT a couple of years ago. N, the repairmen mess up the wires somehow. I searched for your video hoping you still have it up. N, u do! Many thanks!
Thanks for the detailed video my hdmi mixer just died and been looking all over the internet for a better way to setup the karaoke my wife will be so happy Salamat !!
100 im a Filipino im not good in english so that i watch video from my country i didnt learn s thing but your vid is a 100 percent clear it goes through my brain down to my esophagus and now i know what to do with my reciever and speakers that has been stock for 5months figuring out what to do thanks man
I bought all of this stuff, only difference is using a projector and a receiver. I’m using Apple TV that is plugged into the receiver through hdmi. The only way the microphones work is if I unplug the Apple TV hdmi. It’s basically not splitting the sound allowing me to get the microphone to work at the same time as Apple TV
Any luck. I haven't tried a setup with a projector yet but I know it can work with right hardware. In regards to your sound issue you could try a HDMI splitter ✅amzn.to/3RonqxO.
Similar setup here, I went TV > Optical to RCA converter (Amazon) > RCA Input at unpowered mixer (VocoPro) and output to receiver (Denon). I like that you clipped in singing tagalog on your video. Sing on brother.
@@namnam103Have you figured this out? I have the same problem, i bought everything and i can't play both mic and tv audio at the same time 😭 need help
By far the most simple clear cut video on how to. Thank you for this. I’m starting my journey now. I see only 2 mic inputs. Will I need to get a different set up for 4 mic 🎤 inputs?
Excellent video! You covered everything from how to stream from the phone/laptop to the TV and setting up/connecting all of the components (TV, receiver, mixer, mic system, converters and cables) with clear and easy instructions and posted links to all the equipment and cables. This is so helpful to me in setting up my karoake systerm. Much appreciated!
Helpful set up of karaoke system, well detailed thanks for the info....if u dont mind where did u buy your wireless microphone set and kind of brand name? Thanks
Hi Thanks for creating a how to video on how to set up a karaoke system. I successfully followed your instructions. One thing that I would like to ask is, "Why is only one of the speakers connected to the mixer play the karaoke sound, when the left mic and the right mic has sound coming out of the corresponding left /right speakers?"
Hi - I am unable to get sound from the mic - on the optical splitter, I have it connected to the tv, receiver and the audio converter. I have the audio converter connected to line 5/6 to the Yamaha mixer. Do I need to do anything else
Thanks for this detailed video! Question, why do you need an audio splitter? Is there any difference if i just plug the tv direct to the receiver? Thank you!!!
Thank you! It doesn't make much difference but I have mine connected to my TV because so the fire TV is always on when I turn my TV on. If you have it connected to your receiver then your fire TV will only work when your receiver is on.
Hi. Thank you for this helpful video. I am not a techie person but I watched and copied your set up including the wireless microphone device and the kind of mixer you got. I think I got the connections right - TV, speakers, and mixer. However, the microphone device does not produce the sound coming out from the speakers. In short, no sound at all even though it is plugged in. Any idea what’s missing?
I don't think you need an analog converter for the Toslink digital output from your tv. You can connect directly to toslink digital input of the receiver. Why would you go back to analog sound of the digital sound is much better? Beside the RCA analog input you connect to that mixer will eventually amplified by your receiver because MIXER OUT goes to any audio input you choose on the receiver. As if you made a two separate ways of your TV Toslink digital output. 1. The easy way , connected directly to receiver tv input. 2. The long way, converting digital output to analog via Audio Mixer then still end up to the receiver on one of audio input.
The digital converted is necessary if you want everything to sound right. It take the digital signal and converts it into an analog one so the mixer can use it. The mixer takes the sound from the TV and sound from the mic and mixes it together. You can also use the mixer to fine tune the sound output.
Hi what social media you have aside from ur channel here? i want to know more the stuffs i need to buy for our karaoke system..I have only Smart Tv , Yamaha AV receiver and speakers
Thank you, you really have the best home Karaoke setup i have seen on YT. So, I just have one question if I may... So for those of us who have a sound bar system as opposed to a home theathre receiver, we would only need to rout the output bjack to rca cables from the mixer into a second converter box (only this time would have to be an analog to digital) to be able to hook it up with the toslink port of the sound bar??? Does this makes sense to you??? Thanks for your reply
I asked guys at a store and they literally could not tell me this info! One question.. If you wanted to use wired mics instead, could you skip the microphone box, and plug the mics directly into the mixer?
There are many ways. I would try seeing if your TV has a chrome casting feature so you can link up to it via your tablet. In regards to speakers you can chose anything from a simple sound bar to a serious sound system with an amp and all.
With this set up can you use the receiver for home theater for watching movies? Did you use a different input on the receiver like say DVD for the Karaoke set up?
Hi there! Could you please do a quick video on how you set your receiver up (on the setting screen)? I have all the same equipment but can't figure out how to get the audio out to the speaker.
Hi there, very helpful and I am working in this settings and there is a connection that goes from your spliter to the TV is that important? Mine says Monitor I don't see in my Onkyo version. Please answer. Thank you!!
I just have the splitter so that I never lose audio regardless of which setting I have my receiver or tv on. You can also use an audio optical cable to go from your TV to receiver.
This video is soooooooooo helpful! But do I need a mixer if my TV receiver is an ONKYO? Or I can just simply connect mic receiver and TV receiver? Thank you so much!
You can plug the mic straight into the receiver but you might have an audio problem with trying to play music and hear your voice at the same time. The mixer gives you the best experience and control of the sound output.
Thanks for the great instruction. Quick question: My receiver does not have the Stream Box input, so which input terminal of the receiver I should connect the Main Output jack from the mixer to?
Evening..great setup..just wondering is this possible with a soundbar system?..i have the same yamaha mixer. Need help with connections from the mixer to soundbar instead of a receiver. Cheers👍🏼
Hi Excellent video but I have a quick question: I’m planing to purchase a projector and use my Apple TV so how should I connect them together with this equipment? I want to keep the audio just for the TV same as yours when I’m watching just a movie using the sound system
great video. Question, instead of connecting the mixer to a receiver, can you connect to a soundbar? The options would be 2x 1/4 to 1x 3.5mm? or is it possible to convert 2 x 1/4 analogue to digital (optical out)?
Anything is definitely possible. You may not even need a mixer unless you want to be able to control bass, treble, echo output, etc. Can you tell me exactly what you have so I can assess the situation. Honestly I have lots of friends that have this ✅amzn.to/2ZH1aqE connected to their sound bar and it sounds excellent! There are so many options out there. I'm going to do future videos that show different setups.
@@VibrantDeals so the setting that you have for the Mixer in the video is what you have been using ? i have issue with voice from Mic and music from Sound bar
@@VibrantDealshi, what is best simplest way to do home karaoke with 4 microphones and I have bose 300 soundbar, what would I need please and not too expensive please?
Great video! What is the two small converters called? Can i still use an old receiver with speakers from 2002 (analoge.) and how can i connect that old system to smart tv? Thanks!
I have some old Logitech x540 5.1 channel speakers I like to hook up to my older TV to do some karaoke I'm not sure if I need an adapter for the mixer to the TV or not.
Nice video. Question. I have my components in a shelf concealed behind the wall. Maybe 10 feet or less from where we would be using, but not visible as the receiver would be behind the wall. This is a line of sight wireless microphone system?
Hi there, Thank you for putting this video up! Bought the exact system you used and recommended, and also using an Onkyo receiver. But when I plugged it on a dedicated channel, it won’t able to play both the microphones and the background music from the tv through RU-vid, there’s no sounds from the microphones when the optical cable is connected to the receiver, but when it’s disconnected the microphones work but there’s no sounds coming from the tv. Looking forward for a feedback. Highly appreciated. Thank you!
Which microphone system are you using. The link shows 4 microphones vs the 2 microphones that you are using. If you get the 4 microphones will it work with your setup and do you have to buy additional items from your Amazon list?
The one I bought is now upgrade to this one ➜amzn.to/31qPgQG. The 4 mic setup would work with my setup but I would have to remove me mixer and just plug everything into my receiver. If I used the 4 mic setup on my mixer I would only have 2 of the 4 mics working with the mixer since there are only 2 XLR inputs.
Can you let me know please what the Onkyo amp settings are ? As I have bought everything you have I have sound coming through speakers but no mic sound . Could you let me know how you set the Onkyo amp up that is the only thing I am missing . Thank you
Hi. I am trying to put this system together for a very small basement. Is there anyway i can create this system without so many speakers? Maybe just one soundbar or one small speaker. If so, Do i still need to purchase a receiver? Or can i do it with just the mixer and the mics straight into the soundbar or single speaker.
For example. Can i connect my smart tv and TONOR microphone to the mixer you referenced and then just connect the mixer straight into a JBL soundbar which is connected to the tv? Will this work well without a receiver and additional speakers ? Could you list a breakdown of which items i need besides the mixer and tonor mics for my setup
There are so many simple options. I already had my speakers and receiver and these were not purchased specifically for my karaoke setup. Yes, you can use a all in one system ✅amzn.to/2ZEUzNz and then connect it to any sound bar ✅amzn.to/2M4eGN5. You wouldn't need anything extra because the setup provides the optic & RCA cables. This would be one of the most simple setups but functional.
Hi there, thanks for the detailed explanation of your setup. I want to set up home theater system that's similar which can be used for karaoke. But I read several people saying a home theater speaker isn't supposed to be used for Karaoke (or live sounds) to avoid the risk of damaging the speakers and PA speakers should be used instead? So I'm still deciding on the parts to purchase.
My pleasure! I have several friends and family that have karaoke systems. None of them including myself have had any issues with damages or malfunctions to their entrainment systems.
@@VibrantDeals I have main speakers Polk audio Rti A9 Lsim 706c for center speakers, Pioneer amp and using yamaha mg06x. The issue while using for Karaoke sounds busted or rattling. What do you think is wrong or something i need todo? Also if you will kindly share to me your systems set up, your response is highly appreciated. Pls....
Im planning to get (2) JBL EON 615 1000 Watt Powered 15" Two-way Loudspeaker System with Bluetooth Control connect it with the mixer, do you think it will work? with mic and audio playing together?
thank you for the nice tutorial. I wonder with this setup it means that you always take audio from digital out from tv and not the HDM arc. Can you have 5.1 audio signal via an optical cable. I believe 7.1 is not possible. Update: I did mange to run your setup but for me it not necessary to do optical splitter due to I had both HDMI and optic connected and can swich from receiver the input.
Hii i have following system at home as cinema room Denon AVR s970h Focal France sib evo 5.1 Projector Epson 4k Is it safe to connect this setup with speakers of Focal France sib evo 5.1?? Someone said to me that speakers may be damage if mic will drop to floor. And it is not advisable. Please suggest.
