🛂 Tourist Visit Visa (Visa on Arrival / VoA & eVoA):
Good news! If you're from one of the 90+ eligible nationalities and staying less than 30 days, you can easily obtain a "Visit Visa" online for around $39, valid for 30 days. Extendable once for a total of 60 days at an additional cost.
For us, as American citizens coming from the United States, no prior visa is needed, but we did need to purchase an on-arrival visa at the airport, which cost $136 for our group of 4.
As for the visa requirements for Indian citizens, they can enter Indonesia/Bali with an Indian Passport and obtain a Visa on Arrival. Additionally, Indians now have the option to travel to Indonesia and purchase a Visa on Arrival online.
🌏 In summary, US citizens, along with Indian citizens, Australians, and other eligible nationalities, can choose between obtaining a Visa on Arrival or purchasing one online when entering Indonesia/Bali.
🛂 Immigration Process:
Once we had our visas, we joined the immigration line. It took about an hour due to the influx of travelers from multiple planes. Remember, even if you're a group, each person, including kids, goes to the immigration officer individually for a quick photo and document check.
🛄 Luggage Pick-Up:
After immigration, we headed to the luggage claim area. Two of our bags were already waiting for us, while the other two circled on the conveyor belt. Since it took some time, some bags had already been taken off the belt.
🛃 Customs:
Before leaving the airport, you must complete an Electronic Customs Declaration (E-CD) Form. Look for signs and scan the QR code to fill it out. We recommend doing this before you land in Bali to make your airport experience smoother.
✅ Complete it before arriving in Bali.
✅ Can be filled out up to 3 days before arrival.
✅ Save the QR code on your phone or print it.
✅ One form per family.

🚗 Ground Transport:
Once through customs, you can easily find your airport transfer. We highly recommend arranging your transport in advance. If your hotel offers this service, it's the easiest and safest way to go.

Overall, we found Ngurah Rai International Airport to be clean, safe, and the staff incredibly friendly. Yes, the process can be time-consuming due to the crowd, but patience is key, and things do move efficiently.

I plan on going to Bali at end of October. Do you have any suggestions of how much USD to bring to Bali? I plan on using my ATM card there (capital one 360) to get cash

Your expenses in Indonesia will depend on your duration and plans. Fortunately, credit cards are widely accepted in Indonesia, making it convenient for various expenses such as hotel bills and restaurant meals. I would suggest having around 1,000 USD in cash for a week-long stay. This should be sufficient for visa cost, small expenses and emergencies. Regarding your choice of debit card, it's important to note that using the Capital One 360 debit card at ATMs in Indonesia may not be the most cost-effective option. While Capital One doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and fees, the ATM owner will likely charge fees, resulting in you receiving a reduced amount. Capital One does not reimburse these fees. I recommend obtaining a Charles Schwab debit card. This card offers the advantage of no fees when withdrawing cash at both ends. Even if the ATM owner charges fees, Charles Schwab will reimburse them, making it a more economical choice compared to the Capital One 360 debit card. Hope this helps with your trip planning! That explains why I've been receiving less money than expected when traveling abroad. Thanks for the advice on using the Charles Schwab Debit Card, which doesn't have any fees and even reimburses the ATM owner fees. You're a lifesaver! 👍😊

You do not need to declare laptops that are for personal use. However, you will need to fill out a Customs Declaration Form beforehand to clear customs. This form will have several items that you'll need to check 'yes' or 'no' for. For instance, you must declare if you are carrying $6400 USD or more. Before we go out, they will scan your luggage and bags in the machine before you head out. While most regular travelers do not carry items like animals, fish, or plants, it's important to be aware of any restricted or prohibited items by customs regulations. For U.S. citizens traveling to Indonesia for tourism or business trips lasting less than 30 days, typically, no advance visa is required. Upon arrival, you can obtain a visa on arrival (VOA) valid for 30 days. 🌍 During our trip, we, as U.S. citizens, also took the visa on arrival. It's advisable to keep some cash handy for the visa fee, which is approximately $40 per person. If you follow our video, you can expect a similar process upon arrival at the airport. @alviislam4412 Yes, we traveled to Bali from Bangladesh a few months ago on our way back to the USA, and the visa process remains the same as of 2024. Several people here have asked similar questions, and they were able to go through the exact same process recently as we did. @@alviislam4412 Absolutely! Buying tickets and booking your hotel are the main things to take care of. You can get an Indonesian visa from Bangladesh beforehand to avoid the visa on arrival process. However, as a U.S. citizen, you should be able to enter Bali, Indonesia by obtaining a visa upon arrival at the airport, just like we did.
