That last one can't be true. If they changed Team 7's designs from something so cool to something so lame in comparison... that would be heartbreaking. Naruto and Sakura in particular look bloody amazing in that art.

Interesting how a lot of things that didn't make it into the final designs were clearly recycled for minor characters in the same series. Like the Bomber-man from the HxH greed island arc clearly re-used Leorio's original design, and Dodoria from DBZ is borrowed from Frieza's concept art
