But, I have loved this recipe for fried papanasi in a Moldovan-style pan since childhood, and I still can't get enough of it.
It's a recipe that kept us in line, according to my grandmother. The mischief of the three grandchildren exceeded expectations, and the papanasi were the solution to keep them occupied.
Now I do the same with mine, and so far it seems to work.
So, if you want to eat the best papanasi, or the best papanasi recipe, then this is the place where you can find a simple and easy-to-make papanasi recipe.

Ingredients for Moldovan-style papanasi:
500 gr cottage cheese (sweet/soft);
2-3 eggs;
1/2 teaspoon of salt;
4 tablespoons of semolina;
50-100 gr sugar (to taste);
1 vial of vanilla essence or 2 sachets of vanilla sugar;
2-3 tablespoons of flour, for coating the papanasi before frying;
100-150 ml oil for frying.
