Finally rid of that constant nagging about needing more space, they want you to buy more storage when you still have lots of it left, and you can't take the permissions away from it, it's like a fight with a full grown narcissist. Thanks for the hatchet.
@Jay lol paid stuff have an email for the same access, files can be transferred by USB or OneDrive or even on a chat or just use airdrop you have many ways to transfer them into your new PC
Onedrive is a virus for me im sure somoene else thinks the same I can't even extract winrar files anymore because of onedrive when I tried to stop backing up!

Thank you! You were right, OneDrive became my default without me knowing it. My Desktop was now in OneDrive so I made another folder and put everything in there. Also, I made a copy of everything and put it on my exernal hard drive in case my computer got messed up. I now am free of OneDrive. Yay!!!
this video is a lifesaver! I was unable to see previews of my image icons (only a stupid generic little mountain logo) and these nagging red dots next to all my folders. This little tutorial solved all my problems! thank you!!!!!
I'd uninstall OneDrive, it's no longer listed in the apps but if I connected my cellphone or something like else OneDrive starts and wants to go in action. It's still in the explorer. How can I get it 100% away from my PC?

thanks for the information OneDrive kept saying buy more storage when my pcs hardrive was only 50% full and wouldn't let me downloads but now that it is gone it is much better

The popularity of OneDrive ! Everything always syncing without you knowing, what folders can sync. If I could get only one folder to sync that would be okay.
Hopefully this works, I have been looking for a way to get rid of Onedrive without deleting my files. Edit: It works :D, now I can draw stuff without having to worry too much now
Hi, I had the same issue as well. I referred to the answer in the link below and it helped me to import my OneDrive Desktop into an actual local Desktop folder. This didn't work for me. It keeps coming back, and it's not in programs, or down in the taskbar. The folder looks like a normal folder now. I unlinked my computer, told it to stop syncing, everything I could find how to stop it. It keeps coming back the second it's gone.
am trying this now, onedrive has become a annoying bug living inside my laptop, syncing everything and messing up my game files without me having any say in it. i am truely over it. i tried giving it the benefit of the doubt but it ended up being more annoying and game breaking than anything. i just finished uninstalling one drive and am checking to see if my files saved properly, hopefully they did. because after searching online for an hour this is the best solution i have seen so far. lets see how it goes!
thank you, it automatically backed up everything on my laptop and it said it couldnt find my homework files (probably coz it moved them) i moved them all to desktop, deleted one drive and now they work again
weird. i dont have onedrive in my programs. but my desktop, documents, all still have onedrive in the name. And I can't delete the actual 'OneDrive' under my User, because it says its still in use somewhere.
I lost several important files when I deleted this, I didn't realise One Drive was active. Even now after uninstalling it I'm still having problems. When I install a new program it creates a one drive folder and defaults all of the save\load features to it and more. May have to re-install it and delete it again! It may be the same as One Note and reinstalls itself on every upgrade have deleted one note after every upgrade so far.
I HATE one drive. my files default to it, then I get emails about how they're going to delete them if they haven't been used. I've been keeping files for 20 years! I don't want to lose them. It is much easier for me to add a SSD USB drive and back stuff up rather than use this horrible software.
OMG I was following your directions and now EVERYTHING ON MY DESKTOP IS GONE, all my files, all my pictures EVERYTHING is gone except onedrive!!!! What the hell? Where is my stuff. I moved it all to Desktop like you said, but when I click on desk top it's not there.
wow thank you seriously thank you so much man you have made my day this worked perfect i lost some stuff before that one drive deleted didnt wanna wait to restore it wasnt anything i couldnt replace so said screw it uninstalled onedrive saved quite abit of stuff it was trying to delete and back up now im free of it and what i have has now been backed up on usb drive an very happy one drive is gone now tnak you thank you thank you :)
i have some files that wont go to my desktop or let me move them and idk if i will lose them i have a pic somewhere else but i need to make sure it wont be deleted
Weird, but I do have one drive on my computer, but when I go to programs and features there's nothing there for me to uninstall, want to get rid of it for good.

Wow it did work! at first I hesitated to do so because all my files might be deleted but what do u know. Finally, no more unlinking of pc every shutdowns and open on my laptop, one drive gave me headaches especially when it auto sync lol. IM FREE

nvm I fixed it by redownloading onedrive and when I got that error again, I would go inside the folder and delete the files within the folder, then go back to the parent folder (onedrive), deleted it and then it worked.
When I attempt to copy the files over to the desktop I keep getting error messages saying it can't be done because the cloud file provider is not running. now what?
Help please!!! Great video on how to uninstall OneDrive. Two questions... - I assume that by following these instructions that the files on my computer will not be deleted. Is that correct? - Now I want to reinstall OneDrive and be selective of the files I sync to OneDrive rather than having all the files from my computer on OneDrive. Thanks man! I also HATE Onedrive, how can they get away with this shit??!!! Im one of those that didn't understand until I ran out of space in the cloud and Onedrive wanted to charge for more space... and I was like WHAT?? I thought I was saving in my documents! FACKING MICROSOFT!

@@xlmtap1192 nah its fine u can also just right click desktop, go to properties, go to location, put location to reset to defaults, click apply, and done, bing bang boom ur desktop's back to norms, this wont move any synced folders and files, but it will move the shortcuts and stuff, so if u wanna keep those files safe, if you can- copy those files and stuff onto ur desktop, and ez- ur safe from one drive, from there u can just keep onedrive if ur too lazy to remove it/ are too scared to, or just get rid of one drive.
I uninstalled onedrive and it's not on my computer, but I can't open a new word doc without it popping to onedrive. The only way I can start a new word doc is from a previous word doc. Any suggestions?
I had 2 laptops one for important work and one for gaming use, i had to reset my gaming laptop and restored all my files but when I reopen my working laptop it deleted everything because one drive sync everything I got so pissed at one drive for that and never used it again
