This shit has made me fail so many assignments over the years they really shouldn’t force updates when people might need to use their computer’s urgently
Lol, I left my PC on for 24 hours straight and it never got past 25%. I ended up hard restarting my PC, which ultimately restarted the update, but luckily it actually progressed a lot faster. It only took 2 hours to finish after I restarted my PC.
@@neemarhobi4801 Sorry I dont really know how to install GTA V for free Try searching in youtube By the way do you have this problem like in the video?
@@maziikun2167 You may have to reset your PC/ Laptop. That's what I ended up having to do and it fixed the issue. Mine got stuck at 22%; so I restarted my PC (even though it said not to). After I restarted my PC I did end up having to restart the update, but it didn't get stuck as it did before. I don't know if this will cause issues for you, but it didn't in my case. So I hope this helps.
everyone have faith around 30 minutes in was on 12% took 2 and half hours to go to 14% then in 1 hour it was 40% = 3 restarts and 25 minutes later it was done 100% , logging back in to windows was slower and wasn’t loading so I clicked Ctrl + alt + del and that sorted it , good luck everyone !
@@bertdeguzman5517 your drivers are locked you need to download the new windows 10 with a cd but your whole pc will be resetted but thats the only way to fix it
We're at a point whereas installing an OS on a fresh drive takes less time than an update. What has pissed me off since Win7 is the incessant checking for updates after it's already done that and restarted a hundred times. This is exactly what prompted me to totally disable updates for all my computers. The drawback? None. I was in complete control. Then Win10 came along in BDSM gear and said in a domineering voice, "you're gonna take it". When it first launched there was a way to cut off updates but it almost bricked the laptop I did it on. Nothing worked or if something did, a program would take 20 minutes to open. Suppose it's Microsoft's way of saying 'f*ck you'.
"SERIOUSLY THIS WILL WORK" If you using laptop seriously its works... You have to hold turn off button till it not turn off and then again start your laptop it will show u black screen and then it will show u "Reinstalling previous version" and then wait for 15-20mins....
Does bloody Microsoft realise people need to use their PC to do something immediately like business, or an eBay auction etc but instead of asking them when it’s convenient to update it just goes ahead anyway for 6 or 7 bloody hours and you can’t do anything in that time. I hate Microsoft’s windows!
Hey guys. It's not sticking. It gets 3 hour times. It's not glitchy. It's the way. When it got to 30 restarts and Jump to 48 and next jumped to 60 and slowly into 75 and again restarted and that goes on and on until 100. So be patient
Hold the off button and turn it on again if you do that it will show you a black screen if you see the black screen don't panic because you're laptop will be back to normal
So I was doing something in Word and accidentally forgot to save my work before leaving the PC just for a while while I had a meal , and when I came back, I FOUND THAT! I REALLY FELT LIKE SLAPPING MICROSOFT
For anyone asking if this require connection or internet. The answer is no, the update has already been installed and this screen just says that its working on it, its just restarting and applying the changes, so yes dont worry it doesnt need wifi
First 2 hour it only goes 30% and then restart and eventually goes to 48% after 10 mnt it went 57% and then after 75% pc restart and fastly goes to 85% and next 20 mnt it slowly goes 100% so patience is the key i recommend that to do it on a free day 👍
The Internet at work went down while I was installing updates...it froze at 98%. It has been 2 days now, and NOTHING! ☹️😭💔 I have school assignments and work materials on my computer. I feel terrible!😭😡💔☹️ Any suggestions?
That 27% takes for ever! Good thing I have a linux machine that doesn't waste my time! I thought it was stalled forever, so I called the local range to see if computers were acceptable targets. They suggested to try tech support then bring it over. It rebooted at the same time I asked... I knew it was listening in. 😉
Seriously though I hate this computer. Anything that's that unreliable shouldn't be in a place of business. Wait an hour to boot a computer I need files off of. Easier to take out the HDD and put the file on the linux machine.
Your suggestion for keeping patience was really working. Thank you for uploading this video before this I was just used to shut down my pc and then it shows the same updating window.
Mickey117 Microsoft should know fine well some people need to use their PC urgently for study, business communication etc so why do they design it where updates are forced on you and you can’t chose a convenient time to update?
If you want to stop it from updating go to services>window update>disable, but I don't recommend you to do so due to security breaches it may cause a not updated windows
Microsoft is great! You switch on your laptop intending to do some work and the bloody thing decides to do a load of updates without even asking! At least the IPad lets you choose when you want to update. This has so far taken 1 hour and only 24% complete. Won’t be getting to bed early tonight then. WINDOWS SUCKS!!!!! Not fit for purpose!
So my laptop is taking a while, its been about 40 mins and its on 27% Can I go to sleep? Its nearly 4 am for me😭Wait my. Laptop just restarted ooo and went to 30% I will edit when it gets more up Edit 1: 2 mins later it restarted and went to 48% Edit 2: Been about 15 secs and went up to 57% oh just gone to 65% it's going way quicker since it restarted so hopefully I can go to sleep. Ooo 71% I'm actually happy Edit 3: Couple mins later restarted again now 84% n it's 3:58 am Edit 4: another min and now on 90%
Ur probably gonna get a notification saying I commented and ur also probably not gonna even see it. This comment is meaningless.. no need to continue reading. U probably are still reading and I told u to stop. If no one is reading this then this is stupid. In gonna stop now and hop on sum warzone.
Its 2020 and MS can't even give us an estimate on the time to install an update based on their knowledge of what is being installed, your computers information and your connection speed so you can make an informed decision on if and when to start it...
I think its safe to assume that an hour and a half at 91 percent means a problem. Turned mine off, and its now saying "undoing changes made to you computer". Who knows how long things will be stuck there.. My next computer will be a MAC. It just shouldn't be this hard, and you shouldn't have to block off an entire day to uodate.
The update started at morning and now it's 46 should I sleep cuz my laptop is charging will it damage my laptop leaving it on on a charger overnight my eyes are just.....
i'm glad my laptop still is alive, it has been on since 8am this morning bc i had a project due... it's almost 8pm now, the update started at 6pm FJDHDHDHF
I tried to reset my pc and this came up on my pc and it went all the way to 64% and then it started restarting I turned it off after 2 hours of no progress and then I turned it back on and left it for 3 hours then left it on for the night and when I came back after probably 10 hours there was still no progress is this a problem
Holy shit thats what happened to me I mean to shut down my pc but I clicked restart and update and now Its been 3 hours a 42 minutes and 34 seconds and still is at 23%
I have been using Windows 20 years, I alway hate MacOS, but when I tried using MacOs just a year, I always hate Windows. Using MacOS is worry free. Simple and secure. I was so boring with Windows update, always happened to me.
I've been dealing with the update since 3AM, I thought it was gonna be a quick one. I restarted it 2 hours ago, now it's 23% at 3PM. 12 hours. I didn't even get a proper sleep because I feel the need to monitor it. And right now it's 2 hours left before I need to use it for work. fml.
@@S.U.Z.Gamer125 it's normal on my case to update it I just waited and boom at first I undid it by forcing it to shut down then it went back to normal but it turns on slowly so I update it" shutdown update " and just waited after like 9m it's done or maybe 3m would be enough
This is a common question ... the answer is NO! Happily, all the downloading of updates has already been done at this point, and you can safely remove your computer from its WiFi zone or unplug the network cable.
i had to forced shut down my new laptop while installing win10.. but then an hour later i turn it on. i got a notice unexpected error or .. okay i did the f10 and shift after that my laptop messed up it keeps glitching when tryna re-download win10
i love it, most people encounter this issue in windows 10 while im here enjoying my fully working windows 7 edit 2022: well i had to move to windows 10 due to unsupported apps, and i found a way to disable the updates, i still havent updated this pc since august 2021 and everything is still working

Hold F5 , Windows button , power button until your PC/ Laptop Its should be faster 👌 , work for mine , if you guys scared you can wait it its up to your PC recourse, it can go 15 minutes or 24 hours more
@@mohammedmuddassirfareed8593 THIS COMMENT LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE TODAY...I HAVE EXAM LIKE IN AN HOUR AND IT STARTED UPDATING.....MAY GOD BLESS YOU SO MUCHHH
This update is excruciatingly annoying. I have over 4hours+ and this piece of shit update is still going. At the 3 hours mark I was at 27% Has picked up speed since then. But, still a crap speed. Currently stuck at 86%
Some people are scared that something is wrong with their computers because the update is taking a really long time, that's why this video exists, it's to reasure people that nothing is wrong with their computers taking a long time to update.
I've been stuck at 82% for almost 24 hours. Not sure what to do at this point...leave it be, or attempt reinstallation again? It's been plugged in so it is not low on power and it is less than 3 feet away from my router. Totally frustrated here.....
It was still at 82% at noon this afternoon. I got fed up and shut off my laptop. Used the Media Creation tool to download an ISO file onto a USB hard drive. I used that ISO to reinstall Windows 10 onto my laptop. It is working ok....although the original reason I reinstalled Windows still persists.
Mine has been like this for 12 hours. I’ve tried turning it off. Taking the battery off. Turning off internet. It’s frozen in this screen. I need help!!!!!
I have put my laptop for downloaded in night, but don't take any backup of thr laptop. In morning it shows don't turn off your system. It started updating. How to stop it.
DEAR FRIENDS, IF IT WILL HAPPEN WITH YOU THEN PLEASE PRESS AND HOLD YOUR POWER BUTTON UNTIL THE SCREEN BECOME BLACK AND AFTER IT PRESS POWER BUTTON, IF YOU SAW " UNDOIND MADE WITH YOUR COMPUTER" ON SCREEN THEN WAIT FOR SOME TIME, AFTER SOME TIME YOUR PC WILL START ITSELF. THANKS
The problem you are facing is a similar problem nowadays all windows 10 user face. If u dont on your pc for abt 1 week to 2 week or more dan dat , your battery and os gets freeze so it takes sometime to wrk properly
@@permanentmarkingkid4529 if you not turning on your laptop/pc for 1 weak or more, the battery and os got freeze, and it took some time to work normal again
ian spazynski I went on my laptop to do something and the stupid thing decides to do updates without asking. So I can not do what I wanted. It’s been in 1 hour and only 24% complete. At least My Ipad asks if I want to update but not bloody windows. Windows sucks.
Blessed n Satisfied yes it took well over 2 hours to update in that time there was nothing I could do except wait :( . I was tempted to shut it down but did not want to risk damaging the system. Thankfully I only missed a session on my flight sim rather than losing an eBay auction or something more important.
Is everyone facing the same issue? Mine is stuck too I restarted it several times pressed f12 and tried several things but it's still stucked. I'm frustrated now it's day 2.I don't know how to stop it now even if I will do it, will it create any problem? How much time will it take?
Same here. It's very annoying. Update after update, seems there's no end. As for now, I'm still having 60% after roughly more than 1 hour of the process.
It's been about 9 hours so far and I'm still on 22%. ___________________________ Edit: I fixed it by restarting my PC, even though it specifically said/ says not to. After I restarted it, it restarted the update as well, but instead of the update getting stuck at (#)%, this time it actually progressed and finished pretty fast compared to how long I waited before restarting my PC. (I think I waited a full 24 hours before I restarted my PC, in which it stayed at 22% almost the entire time) -------------------------------------- Btw, I'm not saying this will work for everyone or that there won't be any later issues from restarting your PC whilst it updates. I'm just saying that this worked perfectly for me, and I didn't have any future issues after doing it.
@@ivcho158 I restarted my pc, even though it said specifically to not to. Sorry I'm late I edited my main comment giving all the details, so if you ever need help again, then you can just read that. I hope you get/got it fixed. :)
Why, oh WHY do these Windows 10 updates take so fucking long? It's at a point now where I'm genuinely FRIGHTENED to run an update. My laptop is about 8 years old.
