I grew up in may pen and i will always have warm memories of my time there. May pen is not a dangerous place as people want to believe. In my days when the crimminals commit crimes in kingston and spanish town they run to may pen giving the place a bad name
Hey my brother blessings from the uk.i left Jamaica 11yrs ago and I have not been back since.i use to attend Clarendon college high school.your video brought me back to life in the uk thanks brother.
@@chevycon11 Clarendon college is a high school, sixth form college and does night school. I attended there as a high school student. Sorry to hear that the words high school bothers you so much
I like this video. It doesn’t seem dangerous at all. I’ve never been to May Pen. But remember my father mentioned it to me when I was a child. Both my parents were from Jamaica. It would be nice to have a little commentary about the places you visit. For example I’d like to know how May Pen got its name. Feels like we’re walking with you brother. Blessings, peace and love from chilly UK. It’s cold right now so it’s nice to see warm weather.
Nice video bro...one thing I'm dissapointed with, is captioning the places as 'most dangerous, or deadly'. Try to view Jamaica in a positive light, so much negatives is already on the news...we don't need another RU-vidr spreading bad news. Captions like these keeps out investors. I'm from May Pen, n it's not the most dangerous part of Clarendon, or even Jamaica per say....it's not that bad as how the media tries to put it. So big up...n great video.
But as a Jamaican him can't tell foreigners it's kool when they could l lose theme life they should.knoq From now every jamaican know may pen a nuh pen no sugar Cote
I really like the video. It was good. I only wished it had the natural sounds of the street and the people commuting and sellers calling out in the market and all that. Good job 👏
Born and raised. I remember when Shagoury hardware was located where Juici Patties is now. The original Juici Beef was further up the road. Love mi likkle town. I remember this trod well. Big up Green shop from den till now. Thanks for the journey down memory lane.
I didn't know someone was there finally saying something some of the places I don't recognize I haven,t been to JA for a long time so everything look so different but I like what I see
First let me commend you in the great job you are doing..and thank u…I walked these streets back in the 70’s and early 80’s.. to and from HS.. lots of lingering and loitering with friends 😅so much nostalgia… next time, let us know the streets you are walking by or display the names of the streets onscreen so we have an idea where u are.. for example, my days there were the days of Zip Cafeteria at the corner of where Young’s Pharmacy is.. of course the place is expected to change a lot and I haven’t been back to May Pen in years so even though I can still see the same pathways… because there’s so many buildings now it’s hard to see the side streets -I was looking out for Fernleigh Ave and kept going back, couldn’t locate it…Much appreciated
Hi. Loving the May Pen walk by. My old town. Some things have changed but basically the same. Lots to see. I am really enjoying it. However, if you could move the camera slower it would help me not to get motion sickness. Good job.
not to get motion sickness haha lol lol ok kool noted lol but sorry for that....well we have improved since then....thanks alot for watching bless up..
Juiceeeeeeeeeeeee! I shall be visiting this fine establishment when I'm in the area. Trust me, I've seen and been to rougher locations. Maypen a no playpen but it's not hell on earth, either. Friendly staff at KFC (particularly, the doormen). Love the place.
Thank you very much i like the title of this video show people that clarendon is not what people put on the news look how we place look nice and calm 😀 😊 ☺
I remember leaving school (St. Thomas Moore) each day either to go to the arcade, Youngs Plaza KFC or the Mall across the street that was there behind the arcade where the old Police station used to be. Then we used to go down the hill to jump on a bus by the name of "BIG WHEELZ" that blasted music all the way home to Hayes.
This was really good I felt like I was walking through familiar places even as a "foreigner", I remember this area well!! Great job and Inclusive!! I think it was Howard St, the best Jamaican breakfast ever from the lil cook shop 💥
yeah so it was...now the place is so put of control....not everyone but the violence is now mad....bless up and thanks for watching we hope you subscribe 😀😊🙏
At 42:00 when you announce Nelson st I thought you was on Mancester Ave. by guinep tree. and since you state the title of the video as the most dangerous place in Clarendon, most people would get the impression that its so dangerous that you couldnt walk around there.
This video gives a good sight of how the city looks like and its people. But why does the cameraman don't give any explanation on where in the town he is aso. Also it strikes me I hardly heard any reggae during the tour ! Man this is the reggae island ! Peter (Belgium)
bless up for your comment family...but honestly I really don't know the streets and lane like it is because most of the place I know because of frequent visits....and no szreet signs are really available.....however Jamaicans don't really play Reggae music like that anymore for real
@@JAMAICAWALKBY sad to know that reggae music is getting less and less exposure in Jamaica. This is the music that made people know Jamaica. If reggae music wouldn't exist many would never know about the island, with consequences like for instance far less tourism aso. Jamaica needs to wake up.
I like Rootsman natural medicine fenced shop. Very opportune and astute promoter! The thing that surprises me of JA is the large amount of new/late model sedan cars. Taxis, vans, pick up trucks etc is understandable as they are getting used all day but why so many one use cars? I guess all vehicles are imported and that car dealers offer attractive loan deals but this will surely only lead to perpetual debt? I see only one little dog and Clarendonians not so keen on wearing masks, unlike downtown Kingston! Thanks for the walkabout, more please!
Trying to work out what dangerous about May Pen centre, could you explain please 🤔 I love in Birmingham uk and they say there is dangerous so some context about this town would be good 👍🏻
In 21:21, I noticed the writing on wall, "no pissing". Also noticed this is concrete, in parking lot. This must have been, or currently is a problem. It is disguisting to be urinating on concrete. There must be restroom facilities, being this is the Central Business District.
@@JAMAICAWALKBY Jamaicans like to think crime is not in their area, it's only in the other "place". Just because there has been thugs committing crimes in the past doesn't mean the place should be labeled "the most dangerous". If that's the case Jamaica on a whole should labeled the most dangerous place maybe in the Caribbean. You need to stop this mis-representation and attaching labels. Alternative media has become just like mainstream media with the mis-information.
May pen really change up....thanks gi dis view bro, all Fish Bar and z Barber shop move... its a big plaza ova deh now😳different May Pen mi a come bk home to🤦🏿♂️💯❤️🇯🇲
I would have appreciated the video if you didn't walk by so fast. Overall I like the shoe store and the last part. The sky is so pretty. Thank you for this share.
ok thanks for that but why I try to move a bit faster is because it's a big town and I want to capture as much as I can but there is an option on the video to slow it down you could select it and slow the video down to your liking 👍😀thanks again
Over 6 years mi nuh see mi place... Big up a Andrea mi fren fi years, Orrett the electrician from New Paisley Scheme say dat. Next month if covid allows me I want to make a visit. Big up video man, we owe you a drink
I have did dna test I have a likely match to Clarendon Jamaica yet I know nothing about being from North America territory Atlanta ga. No one in my family can tell me about since I’m the only one that has done dna. I’m learning all this on my own.
Hello Derrick. Thats great! I'm from Clarendon, born and raised... still living there. I hope you get clarity overtime and even possibly get to meet relatives here
I have not one relative there all my family here in North America. I never been to Jamaica but I will be going soon esp once the Covid crap stop. Thanks for reaching out im learning as much as I can about Clarendon area.
I got hooked on your videos especially the ones of May Pen, Clarendon but really didn't like you giving it that title and not Spanish Town or Kingston. Gives a negative tone.
