For those who do not know, the IDF is a civic duty, as soon as we finish high school we enlist in the IDF and serve two to three years, and after the mandatory service there are many who continue to be officers. We may have to serve in the army, but every Israeli citizen enlists because of our love for Israel and to protect our citizens.

Aircrafts, tanks, warships, submarines - IDF have enormeous numbers of those, even for a state 5 times bigger. And their military technologies are beyond all we can just guess it is possible. They invest some 20% of GDP in defense while NATO requirement (not reached by all members) is 2%... IDF is a big, extremely powerful and technologicaly advanced army. And what is the most important - Israeli soldiers know why they serve in the army - to preserve a future for their kids and their grandchildren. The biggest motivation to defend their country.

@@coreysmith8489 unfortunately we had a big operation in gaza every few years and before that a big war every 10 years. and that goes 70 years back. so ye as you said, dealing with civilians and kids throwing stones isnt the best experience but its an experience never the less. you may believe israel dont care or even intentionally harming innocents but the truths is the opposite. we try our best to pick the fighters/terrorists among inside a highly populated area. and in this we got lots of experience hence methods and weapons. also the anti missile umbrella is a result of the treats over the last decade. so ye even if you support the palestinians you cant deny that israel is good as an army at what it does and its lots about experience and needs. same like how hammas is one of the best in digging tunnels and spreading terror and false propaganda because they dont have any other methods to fight. they do try to kill inocents but its just because they cant realy hurt the army or fight head on.im sure they prefer to fight more honorably and so do we but apparently reality is different. there is no much honor in wars anyway but portraiting one side as the bad guys will only lead to more wars and if you go for war it really shouldnt be for hare and revenge...and if you where fighting for 70 years believe me you would realy like to stop :(

Israeli Nationalist I already know about the six day war were Israel launched a sneak attack to destroy the airforces of the Arab states before they even took off the ground. I did not know that Korea had conscription. Here in Finland we have conscription for men as well but there has been a lot of talk about the conscription being either extended to include women as well or flat out stopped. I do nit really care if it is only men or men and women i just care about us having a military to defend ourselves. I would be interested to hear if there is any discussion like that over there in Korea

I cannot even explain it...I worked with Israelis in 2015 (archaeological digs), and I was like fish in water :D. They were even inviting me to come and work there but I couldn't back then for private reasons back here in Croatia. But... my brothers and sisters from different mothers, Im not jewish...
