However, while the character in BSD is based on the Black Jack doctor, as far as I know Asagiri did put some creative license on his character, making it implicit (and in non canon explicit) Mori has a like for little girls because it's like a joke, being true but in a comedic way

@@amia108 the term he used was “tsuma” tsuma means wife, but it’s used as a platonic way. It basically means “life long partner” meaning that Elise is someone who will always be by his side.

If ur referring to the "I prefer my woman" that's a mistranslation made by the anime. He actually said "I'm touched but the only girls I protect are aged 12 and under I'm afraid." I even have a physical manga and Japanese friends that help translate.
Also it's not Asagiris intentions at all. He wanted to make a scary mafia boss character have a soft spot for little girls. (which is not in any way sexual or romantic.) it's the exact situation for Fukuzawa. He's seen as cold and has a dark past but has a soft spot for cats. Why would Asagiri make mori a pehdo as a way to soften a character? Plus irl Mori is a victim, he wouldn't do that.

Kafka made Mori a man who has a soft spot for little girls, but not in a romantic, sexual or any inappropriate way. Because if Kafka wanted to show that trait more he would've used more specific descriptions or made Mori talk to Elise or other kids like Yumeno or Yosano (as a kid) in a more explicit way than he actually does. Meaning that it is not Kafka's purpose. You can think of "giving Mori a soft spot" as making Fukuzawa love cats. Even tho Fukuzawa seems serious and cold (from outside) he is still very gentle with cats showing his "soft" side of personality. That is why they have the dialogue with "you still like little girls" "and you still like cats" which people mistranslated and interpreted as something sexual when it wasn't, just like Fukuzawa's love for cats. Now this one im taking words from my moot) The exact word isn't 'lust' it's a big mistranslation if u rlly think abt it. Fukuzawa asked if his 'liking' towards young girls hasn't changed. It actually means 'hobby' 'taste' 'interest'

And I know about the mistranslation, but even if the 12 yo and "still obsessed over little girls?" Lines were a mistranslation, the reaction of the characters isn't approving at all, making it implicit there is in fact something going on

The actual translation should've been 'I only protect women under 12' and in the actual guide book it wasn't mistranslated to be that saying and plus it gets taken in the wrong way. Also how do the translators seem to mess up EVERY thing he says about kids, like whenever he's talking about little girls it seems to be translated in a way that makes him sound creepy. That's because he doesn't need another kid to take care of. Elise is meant to represent Mori's regrets and needs. He regrets how he handled Yosano and the situation in the war. He also regrets he chose Dazai and how he wasn't able to save him. For the needs, he NEEDS a helper. (Like in beast). Beast is how the characters would act if given the chance @@Meowzyxxx
