hi question, in poker, how do people make reads. what are the determining variables for why he can almost accurately assume she has ace k/q, and even more impressively, that she can read his pair.

@@Zane25.​​⁠when it’s raised so many times, it narrows a players range of hands to only so many combinations. 4 bet and above is usually pair of 10s or better.

@@Zane25.so the way the hand is played, both are making guesses based on the info they have. 1) the guy says AK/AQ because she 5bet jams her hand. She can do this with AA, KK, AK, QQ. Because AA are more likely to just call as well as KK, he can be more sure that she has AK or QQ. People generally play AK more aggressively than QQ- do he made the deduction that her 6bet jam was a semi bluff with AK- and if the table is playing lose AQ. 2) she calls his hand TT because of what he said- “you got AK/AQ”. He did not snap call, meaning she knows he doesn’t make AA, after he says the AK/AQ, she now is sure he doesn’t have KK because KK calls here 100% of the time and he can’t have QQ for 2 reasons: 1) would also call if he puts her on AK since it’s a flip and 2) because he also says “AQ”, she is sure he doenst have QQ as he would say AQ is he was blocking 2 QQ with his hand. Meaning he can have JJ or TT- this basically makes the range of hand he can have short. So she calls it “tens” but he could also have JJ here- but both are same hand compared to her hand.

JJ isn’t in an all-in range at all unless your at 60big blinds or less? Then as you approach 600Bb it’s literally only AA/KK

Also wtf are you talking about AK vs QQ or JJ or 1010 or 99 are almost the exact same equity… but 1010 is slightly better equity than all of those by like .1% look it up.
