Personally my favourite part is the fact that you can put viewing domes in the habitats even underwater. My least favourite part however is that fact that frontier hasn’t made it so that you can see the marsupials in the pouch before giving birth. At least not that I’m aware it might’ve changed though.
@@Poke-Paige Actually, while "Pregnant" (Technically the baby irl would have been born, but that is just what the game uses) you can sometimes see the joeys poke their heads out (Atleast for kangaroos and I think maaaybe koalas).
My favorite part of the Update has to be orangutan brachiation and favorite feature of the DLC is probably the kiwi and Penguin. My least favorite part has been stated over and over again, but it's the addition of the quokka. 😂 If they added the tree kangaroo the pack would have been a 9/10 for me. I also would've preferred something different for the exhibit animal. Sure lorikeets would have been nice, but I didn't expect them.
A piebald little blue penguin was found back in 2013! Fronteir did an amazing job with the piebald pattern when compared to the one researchers found out in the wild!
I really love these kiwis and their colour variations and new plants are amazing too! My least favorite part is spectacled flying fox, they are very good but i expected other kind of flying fox. Thanks for the video! #kiwi
As the self-appointed Godfather of the Bird Mafia, this pack gets a big ol' A+ for me. I know folks are disappointed by the lack of flying birds, but I'm holding out hope. And more so, we got TWO highly requested habitat birds in one pack, a PZ first. This is the best sign I've seen in a long time that we could seeing be more birds consistently added as a new standard for future packs. And I'm hearing people say "ugh, it's just another penguin and ratite though". All due respect, but I don't want to live in a world where more penguins is seen as a bad thing. And as for the kiwi, sure they're technically a ratite. But it comparison of size, looks, geography, and lifestyle compared to the likes of ostriches and emus? Sorry, but that'd be like they added dolphins, and people were saying "ugh more ungulates again..."
I can kinda understand the "more of the same" thing with the penguin and to a lesser degree the kiwi, i too would have prefered to see a new and different type of bird like a pelican or the black swan. Anyways im just happy frontier is still aware birds even exist. But to be perfectly honest i think we only got 2 birds because every other possible mammal inclusion would have been way more work than the penguin and kiwi. Treeroo and echidna? Pretty unique and assumeably hard to make. Bilby, numbat, quoll and other small marsupial? Also pretty unique from everything we got. So as much as it pains me to say it, im pretty convinced the 2 birds in a pack will be a one off occasion. Would be happy to be proven wrong tho
I can sort of understand the game still not having flying birds. I suppose you would have to contain them in an aviary and the animations of that might be difficult.
@@pillbugm8914 Naw, just rig them the same as bats. If(when) we got flying birds, they'd be exhibit animals. Still think we will get flying birds. Just like I think we'll get fish. PZ still has a few more years of content, don't forget.
As a New Zealander, I'm very happy with this pack. Animal choice is great. The scenery is pretty good, especially the Nīkau palm, which is my favourite plant. The only thing that disappointed me is still no nocturnal house, as you would never see kiwis in zoos that are not in one. #kiwi
I just bought the game a month ago and I’ve started a New Zealand based zoo themed around my home city of Tauranga and the fact that this came out is such perfect timing #kiwi
#KIWI (and a New Zealander here) I love the pack i just wish they committed to a direction, like it's very much an NZ pack yet we have Hawaiian décor and Australian/SEA mammals. NZ Fur seal, Kakapo, Takahe, Kea, Tuatara, KuneKune pig, could have been substitutions (kea for walk-thru). We have such a distinctive style between Maori and Hawaiian and often in media we get given the "Polynesian" treatment where they just slap a coat of hawaii on everything. Sad because everything else is exactly what i've wanted to replicate local zoo's. Also for comparison, to a New Zealander it would be like doing an African safari pack, including maybe a Zebra, a Springbok, then an Asian elephant, and a Burmese python alongside Middle-Eastern architecture.
This pack was announced just a few days after I visited the zoo of Stuttgart, Germany, which is the only zoo in Europe with quokka's. Such a cool coincidence. When I visited Australia in 2008, I saw many species that were not kept in Europe at that time. Since then, many species have been imported from Australia. The quoll and rufous rat kangaroo, for example, are now kept in quite a few European zoos. It's not unlikely that quokka's are gonna pop up in more zoos in the coming years. Australia seems to be very strict when it comes to importing exotic species, but they're getting more generous in exporting Australian species (San Diego getting platypus i another good example). (Although I doubt we'll see little blue penguins return to Europe anytime soon as the last attempt (by Wuppertal Zoo in Germany) didn't go well.) #kiwi
Hey leaf, hear me out, I have a theory that frontier is listening us more about our wishes, and we got the most highly requested animal by the community, so I think from now , they will be adding every highly requested animal in each dlc, there will be a mix of clones and unique animals, and I'm suspecting they are working in a new mechanic, that is an aviary mechanic. I think our last dlc will an aviary expansion with a numerous roster of birds to make the pack being very useful and frontier would make a lot of money. I think it would be a mix of WE and flying habitat aviary birds.
The Tasmanian devil is so cute!!! I had hopes they would make the quokka more cartoonishly cute but, oh well. #kiwi I'd love to win the pack and maybe get back into playing again! Thanks for the overview video❤🎉 good luck to everyone
From what I see. Tasmanian Devil is probably my favorite of the Pack. Quokka and Kiwi kinda grew on me (Quokka can't climb so that eliminates the possibility of a Tree Kangaroo mod on the rig, but a Dorcopsis or Pademelon is on the table.) The Penguin... is a penguin, not too hyped on that one. Flying Fox is cool and has modding potential. I am genuinely surprised at how many animals are walkthroughs, the Kiwi, Quokka, and Penguin all can be. The scenery is super cool. I really like the Lava, wish it was recolorable for like a liquid light (since it is fake lava). Makes me wish we had Geysers in game. The Lava Rock is cool too, wish it could be flexicolor too but I still like the dark coloration of it. The domes sound really cool too. And Orangutans can Brachiate which is awesome.
Normally, I’d enter the giveaway because I’m a penny-pinching miser, but in this case, I want to pay full price for a full product because they deserve every cent.
#kiwi I love the light-wooden colour of the scenery items and i’m exited about the quokka. I’ve never seen any of these animals in real life though. Thanks for the detailed update video again!
already plotting out my little tazmanian dream island for the little devils, my own gang of emo penguins, a scary flying fox cave and a bit of a #kiwi twist 🥝...
Genuinely one of the best packs IMO. There's a few things missing (I'd love to have those lava stone blocks as a building set for instance), but so many things I didn't think we'd even get, like the new fences and nets. #kiwi
With the orangutan brachiation update, could you make an open air enclosure where they cross a bridge over the guests. Some zoos have rope bridges/catwalks where gibbons/monkeys can traverse out of their exhibits and go over your head.
#kiwi This pack looks amazing, great blueprints (I'm not the best builder). And those animals are amazing!! I'm torn beetwen Tasmanian devil and Kiwi as the best (cutest) one
Hello mate, can I get an invite to the modding discord? Having an issue after the update that must be related to mods. EDIT: my bad dude, didn't realise it was public!
Thanks Leaf! Really enjoyed listening to your take and explanation on the pack. Hopefully we get birds at some point. Were also missing the tree kangaroo! #Kiwi
To be honest, when I saw the comparison between the little blue penguin and the fish in the feeder, I couldn't help laughing. When will frontier fix these problems?
The reason the Quakka doesnt share habitats with Koalas, Wallabys, Wombats and Kangaroos is because other then the Western Grey Kangaroo none of the animals share a range irl
The piebald version of the fairy penguin is EVERYTHING. My least favorite part is the orangutan brachiation because it's only on that one item; feels restrictive. And #kiwi for good measure
#kiwi Thank you for your review! I love the new Oceania Pack and the Tasmanian Devil is so adorable! The Kiwi is so cute and the new items are perfect for my zoo!
I swear if they gave the kiwi ability to use the termite feeder but not the aardvark still I'm gonna laugh, also mixed feelings on what the orangutans can swing on, along with the quokka im kinda in the same feeling as you #kiwi
