I smell gas when I first ignite and it continues for the duration of the time it's on. Made last thanksgiving gnarly. Could that just be the ignighter?

Hey Scott - I replaced the igniter but when the oven door is closed and I turn the oven on - it smells like gas turning the preheat cycle. If the oven door is open - not so much an issue Any thoughts?

I just bought a oven and when I turn it on and lite it I can smell gas. I was trying to boil water and for the first 40 seconds I can smell the gas so I turned it off. I'm new to gas stoves as I just moved into a home that is gas only for the stove so I don't know what I'm doing I have always had electric stoves all my life. My question is it normal to smell has when you first turn on the stove or should I be concerned? I'm scared to use it.
