I think they will not really use the Fantasyland and Discoveryland train station in the future anymore, only when the station on Main Street is closed to add Christmas decorations on Town Square one week before and after the Christmas season.
I don't think the stations need repair, as far as I know - they're only running one train, so it's more efficient to just do a loop without stopping repeatedly.
