Thank you so much for this! It's really interesting to see the artwork concepts and the process as well! The advide to slow down was dutifully noted XD Yayoi turned out beautifully! ♡
Gorgeous! So happy to see you do this sculpt! I just received my own with the galaxy set and I’m considering purchasing another to customize! I really want to sand down the elbows as you mentioned in a previous video; what would you say the difficulty level of that is? Thanks so much for being amazing! 💜
I was just wondering what sealant do you use? I've been interested in doing faceups myself but I've heard the sealants are all pretty toxic (and weather temperamental).
I generally use Mr. SuperClear (MSC) and Liquitex Matte Varnish. MSC can be temperature sensitive and is quite toxic (God PLEASE wear a mask with that stuff) as are most aerosol products. Liquitex Matte Varnish is a “brush on” that can be used as such or in a air bush machine and not really toxic at all, no smell that I’ve detected, I’ve also never had a issue with it in the summer or winter months. Honestly….. there are SO many products out there that work charms in the doll painting medium, these two are just a couple of my personal favorites. Maybe I should make a sealant video… hmmmmm 🤔
@@JoshuaNicholsJoshybearhuggies I would certainly watch it. It can be a bit complicated, especially if you're new. Price, availability, toxicity, temperature, humidity, safety. AHH!
I LOVED seeing your process and I totally agree that taking your time and enjoying the process is something artists forget *guilty*🤚 And I also do something similar with the pre faceup process. I actually do a rough sketch in procreate of the makeup ideas I want for a certain sculpt but make it rough enough to make changes in real time if that is what the sculpt is speaking to me to do. 😸 love your vids!! ❤
Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words 😇 Ummmm…. I almost always have to play around with colors before I really settle on what I like and what fits. It’s really about allowing myself to find the color identity for a set project and then building 😇
So cute!! I really appreciate being able to see the whole process, from sketch on paper to sketch on doll to paints... Very helpful to see it broken down like that.
Your lines are so clean and the face up is so cute! They really remind me of an electric type trainer ☺️ The advice about art not being instant gratification is spot on! I think the most important part of making a piece, for me, is the brainstorming. When I daydream about my character, draw their design and outfit, practice their face up, everything comes out so much better. I love your videos and especially how you’ve customized your match girls! I have one and I did a whole face up impulsively and needed up removing it all. Now I am still brainstorming so I can make her exactly what I want 💜
Thank you so very much! This style is still very new on me so I try very hard to make things clean 🥰😂 Yes yes yes , the brainstorming is by far the most important part for me as well. It seems to make it all clear so the execution really pays off, love it.❤️ Good luck with your Match Girl! Im sure they’ll slap when you’re all done!🥰 don’t be afraid to show me them in my DM over on IG 😇
