Girl not 6 yrs 😭 Yes please do it. I did DIY locs on myself last year after growing out a cut similar to this and absolutely love my locs. I had them in for 6 mths. I'm going to do them again next month. I wanted to see if I would like them.

I had locs as u can see in my pic. They were ruined due to the over processing of blonde and they started popping. I cut my hair to a tapered cut in 2022. I have wanted micro locs for 2 years now. Beautiful 😍 work. 😊
I have DIY traditional locs that I absolutely love. I'm not a fan of microlocs and definitely not sisterlocks but I got to say these look like 🔥🔥 Still definitely not for me but great job!

I started my microlocs with two strand twists back on 9/7/2022 so I’m coming up on my 2-year lociversary soon! I had 10-11” of hair but I was missing about 2-3” of hairline so they started basically behind my ears. Even though I was so embarrassed of that I still got them and so happy I did! Now fast forward to 2024 almost 2-years in and after growing the entire hairline back now. My loctitian has been able to install over 30 new baby locs in and hopefully even more by the next time my re-tie comes up. The best decision ever! Don’t matter if you got 2 or 3 inches of hair get them now if you want them because it will save you money and they will loc quicker. Even at my stage I’m still not completely locd all over…😊

I had some in 2022 but couldn't afford to keep them up, so I've been wanting to go back since then. My hair is cut with the sides and back low and I haven't decided if I 2ant to let the sides and back grow out yet, but I want them in with the side and back short after it grows out.
I definitely feel you! I hope you’re able to have them again.. I know for her, having her sides cut and now having Microlocs her hair is going to be easy to maintain. To me having locs is true freedom, but it is a luxury service that requires routine.
