The snow in big bear is pretty bad most of the time in March because during the day it melts and becomes slushy and at night (Nights in March aren't always below freezing) it freezes again making just this really hard snow that sometimes is called concrete which isnt great for skiing.

the worst conditions for pow though. ice inevitable.

Wearing thick warm clothes protects you when you fall, though.

As a skier for 8 years skiing is a lot easier than snowboarding. So basically when you ski, you get control of both of your feet. A snow board stays on one foot before riding and skis have even weight distribution because there is one on each foot on lifts which makes riding and getting of lifts easier. A plus is if you are used to skateboarding or surfing, you might be a bit better at snowboarding. If you can rollerblade or ice skate you will be a bit better a skiing. Finally the only other difference is the boots but overall I just think (after doing both skis and snowboarding) skiing is easier

@@wylfo over all tho just asking other snowboarders and watching them notice how on a mountain (at least in the two places I go) there are tons of snowboards just sitting randomly in any run not saying all snowboarders are bad but snowboarding is just more tiring
