25 Fundamental Derivative Examples 🎉
Need a refresher on derivatives or want to practice your Calculus 1 skills? In this video, I solve 25 unique derivative problems covering power functions, polynomials, trigonometric functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. You’ll see how to apply the product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule effectively for different types of functions.
This video is perfect for students looking for a variety of derivative examples to boost their calculus knowledge. Whether you're preparing for an exam or just brushing up on your calculus, these examples will help solidify your understanding.
👉 What you’ll learn:
How to take derivatives of power functions, trig functions, and more.
Applying the product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule to real problems.
Tips for simplifying derivatives, though this video focuses on solving the calculus portion more than the algebra.

Note: This video does not cover inverse trig functions, hyperbolic functions, or logarithmic differentiation. I also don’t focus on detailed algebraic simplifications, but rather the core calculus concepts.
Watch now to practice and master your derivatives!

Patrick, you have been a great teacher for me years now. On my masters two years ago for optimization problems etc. and now for my PhD with your calculus, implicit differentiation etc. I would like to thank you. I believe that people who know how to easily explain math to other people have a special place in Paradise. Lena :x

Some people like patrickJMT likes Maths and spend more time doing it, and I guess he is a quick learner on the field of Mathematics too? Am I right +patrickJMT? On my case I used to be lazy to do maths, and I am still a little bit lazy. I do understand what I am doing once I do it, I guess that my laziness is the only thing to blame, not the teachers, since they give you what to study, and the only person responsible to learn it, is each of us. I wish to be able to make videos too, once I finish my degree, only for the sake of practising it.

I am currently taking business calculus online, which is a challenge because I've always struggled with math. I was planning on dropping the course, but your videos have helped me truly understand. You have an amazing gift of explaining concepts that seem overwhelming and very hard to grasp. I cannot thank you enough for all the time you've put into making easy-to-follow videos! Thanks again for all the help!

No, the inner function is sin(x), and the outer function is x^2. According to chain rule, you have to multiply 2/sin(x) by the derivative of the inner function(sin(x)) which is cos(x).
