Yeah like my island is just a 3 star and boring as heck but I love people coming to my island despite it being a mess. If I did even an eighth of what some of these people do to their islands I’d want everyone to come visit and share my art with me. It’s so sad that we can’t do that when that’s half the point of the game just because there’s some bad eggs out there.

I made an island back in September that i LOVED. A week ago I tried to visit it through the dream address (I had a screen shot on my switch) and it was deleted. I don’t know if it was duplicated or deleted, but I’m mad at the fact.

art thieves are usually looking for attention. They pass the art off as their own, show it off, and people oo and aahh over it and tell them how amazing they are. I'm guessing stealing a DA would be done for similar reasons.

The point of the game is to develop a decolate island and make it your own, to be creative and build using your own imagination having fun with the process.... What kind of weirdo would spend money on a switch and the game to then just press a button and download someone's else work? Emagine spending $200.00 to do nothing while pretending that someone else's island is your own.... I can't even imagine how gross they are, you'd have to be gross to be that pathetic.

im pretty sure they can't remove the ability to dupe islands. since the island's data has to be sent to the visitor's switch to load the island in,,, that data can be decrypted and saved into a dupe.

I'm a code creator and i don't understand fully what she meant by the codes thing. I don't have a dream address island but I've uploaded my own codes for others to use, none of them against the rules and i don't have any hidden ones that break rules either. If i understand right, the dream address thing doesn't affect the codes situation, but if we've uploaded codes to the general web they can take them anyway? And do what exactly with them? And if it's not rule breaking codes, then how can our safe codes become removed?

Edit: this is not in response to my island being "banned or deleted" I meant ive had other modders steal my island and download its data from the da. And yes that is true and it does happen. Everyone in the modding community is aware of it. Its been around since new leaf. one of my followers legit showed me "hey i downloaded your island". I was caught off guard about it . why would you want to steal and have an island you did not make? 💀 so the issue i have is simply people stealing my islands and thinking its okay because i work so hard on them. I delete my islands and restart constantly so the DA is my work preserved for visitors to enjoy.. Not steal and claim as their own. Its a very different matter then someone who would recreate my island builds or tutorials here on RU-vid because i inspired them (which i love btw its what my channels about) but obviously downloading my work.. Not okay lol its crappy because its happened to ALL my islands , as a fellow modder, id never know how to do this and let alone want too! I hate that I have to be OK with this happening to my islands

@kkatcrossing Yes. There is no proof that Nintendo has banned anyone is what I am saying. While the official ACNH server/subreddit is not official nintendo they watch for this stuff (and have THOUSANDS of users each) so I would trust those places rather than 1-2 people online saying "you can get banned." there would be an uproar on either place if people did get banned for this. You would see posts either place and there would be coverage. Right now there isn't. Therefore, this is a rumor.

Wow! This is disgusting. I know one AC RU-vidr I watch (wish I remembered who it was) recently had to restart her save file because she got two items from a treasure island not knowing they were hacked, and she couldn't get rid of them. She tried everything such as throwing them away, giving them to villagers and such, but no matter what she kept getting an error saying she couldn't do those things, so they were stuck in her inventory, and she finally resorted to deleting her island and starting over. Online trading was already bad enough with those who scam you out of your hard-earned bells or Nook Miles tickets, but this is a way worse. People who try to damage other people's experiences with AC are the worst whether it's these hackers who damage other people's games, or people who try to petition Nintendo to remove certain villagers they hate not caring about those who do like them.

The problem is the items she tried to get rid of can be dealt with if you already have a modded switch, but for regular switches you can't get rid of those items in your inventory or once they're placed. I've been to treasure islands and seen things ive never seen before in the game, like fleshed colored mannequin heads like the ones we display our hats on, but instead of being black like in the game, they're a sandy flesh color, I've seen weird looking items like scrolled papers that look like those material items like acorns, tree branch, and rocks. I don't know how they got those into the game but although i was tempted to pick them up i didn't because i'm sure id regret doing it.

I never use DA and probably never gonna use them, I don't decorate my island, I only have fruit trees, vegetables and flowers. I mainly focus on resources gathering rather than decorating, so my island is not worth a DA.

I encountered a hacker in high school once. I was on a computer and was just checking out a website when all the computers suddenly shut down. Someone had hacked into the school’s mainframe to cause this shutdown and many students had to restart their computer class projects since they forgot to save before the incident happened. However, I was spared from having my progress deleted as I was already finished and had saved everything and was just taking a break to surf the web

Glad you’re doing better ❤️ You know, this really pisses me off… I spent so much time and effort to make my island what it is, get the villagers I love that make me happy… And I uploaded my dream address so I could share my vision and happiness with other people to make THEM happy. There’s no real theme, it’s not set up like a guided walk through, you just go and wander freely in a 70s themed zen atmosphere. It’s my own idea of what makes me happy and I wanted to share that happiness. That’s all. Then some idiot decides he’s going to ruin what all of us have found to be so wholesome, fun and exciting. Now if we want to keep our islands and keep them safe we need to delete our dream addresses?! It’s BS! This was half the fun of the game, going to visit other peoples visions, seeing what they had done, interacting with them safely and having them interact with you safely without fear of theft or running through your flowers. I hope Nintendo catches the person who put the video up and catches all the people who are out there doing this. I’m sorry, I refuse to let my fun be spoiled by these idiots!

interesting... Dreams, indeed, are kept on Nintendo servers so it shouldn't be a problem to ban a dream or author code. But how can Nintendo delete your island if it's stored in internal memory of Switch?

The Nintendo Code of Conduct states "Anyone who violates any of our user agreements or these community guidelines may be suspended or have access to games and/or services disabled, their user entries, content, or posts removed, and their entry to competitions, contests, locations, and events restricted." So I am guessing they can revoke your game registration and when you try to play, your switch will say you don't have access to the game or something. So, not deleting your island, just taking away your ability to play animal crossing at all. Whether they will actually DO that is another thing. More likely they just delete the dream address and warn you to be good. Additional violations could result in them blocking you from using the dream address feature, etc

I suggest an alternative to record yourself touring your island, not even voice over or face cam. But that way you can have a video version of your island you can share safely

i really doubt nintendo will do anything about it, since as far as i know, duplicating islands/towns from dreams has been a thing since new leaf. however, it is good to inform people;.

I don't have any custom designs public, thank GOODNESS, but I deleted my Dream Address right away. Making Animal Crossing videos is my life and I hope to make it a full time job when I'm older. I'm going back to inviting people to my island to take boxed villagers.... Ive been building and not villager hunting, giving away the autofilled villagers. It was a welcomed way of taking a break to seek out people who'd want my unwanted villagers then i stopped because of this video. Someone already lossed out on getting Colton.

I just go to treasure islands if i need things. Personally, i don't care to interact with people, i'm a loner and the only thing i care to do with the community is share my island. Deleted my dream for the time being and taking a break from trading on nookazon. As someone who's been playing since City Folk, this breaks my heart that people would be so cruel playing this game. My island is over 1500 hours, I'm not playing with someone trying to take it.

It sucks that there are people doing this as I'm working on my island by trading on nookazon for items that I want in my island. I barely have enough time to work on my island alone and yet this is happening which is not only me but to everyone in ACNH community. I hope that Nintendo fixes this issue so I can trade with other players without the dangers of getting reported or banned.
