Hey guys, any comment saying "You won and should message us on whats app" is 100% a Scam. Any comment... and I truly mean 100% of comments on youtube that ask you to message them on whatsapp or anything like that are 1000% a scam. You can see messages from me have a grey outline around my name to know it's a response from the person who runs the channel (that's true on any youtube channel). Just beware of scammers... this is all true on any channel/comment section on RU-vid.

I bought the Lekato Ws-70 from your other video. The extended neck between the plug and the body was the main selling pint for me. It works on an Ibanez bass with active pickups. Other wireless units are too short to connect because of the way Ibanez locates their jacks. I have not had any issues with it.

Great videos on wireless. I use wireless systems with bass guitar in a weekend warrior cover band. I started with the Getaria 2.4 but kept clashing with the singer’s wireless system, so went with the 5.8 Getaria system, which worked flawlessly until last Saturday. New venue, first time I got drop-outs with the 5.8, so just picked up the Lekato’s 900Mhz. They sound acceptable in the house with better range, so we’ll see what happens this weekend. Again, thanks for all the great info.

@@ScottUhlMusic I had frequent glitches and drop outs if I wasn’t pretty close to the receiver especially if I was back by the drummer with my back turned to the receiver. I tried several channels. @ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 2 года назад
@@terryreece4828 hmm... were there a bunch of wireless all in the same area? And did it happen at many venues or just one or 2? There are many different factors... those are the main ones I would watch out for. My drummer and singer use them and have never had a problem with them. They do have less available channels than my expensive Sennheiser system. So it could have just been that all channels were taken where you were. Although a faulty unit is also possible, and PP has a great 1 year warranty!

Thanks for all of your great reviews Scott. I have used some of these wireless systems but the Lekato UHF is the worse when it comes to sound quality. It's high-mid range is so muddy compared to the x-vibe u2 2,4Ghz, the Ammoon 5,8Ghz or a decent cable. I only realized it after destroying (boosting highs and mids) in some great helix presets.

I purchased a Swiff Audio WS-70 5.8G system on Amazon for $70 and the latency was absolutely terrible. Slapped back as if I was 50 feet or more from my PA system. I tried it back to back with my xvive to be sure I didn’t overlook something with my settings. Almost like over compressing my signal or something. Unusable in a live situation, had to return it… I use it with Alvarez electric acoustic to a Boss ME-6 pedal direct line to the PA system.

Nice! Any of these can take the place of any 1/4” cable. It just depends on the setup/pickup because some give a little bit of a buzz when you play depending on the setup. I let my violin player borrow 2… and 2 of them were clipping in her setup. I have so many of these I cannot remember which ones I lent her. So I would try the Swiff audio WS50 first and make sure it works for you 👍

I found the Swiff and its twin, Westshell, to add a high volume of white noise the signal. I've recently tried two of the less expensive sets, from Lekato and Kmise, and they also added a whoosh of white noise, not quite as much as Swiff, but too much. I have an Ammoon and a Koogo Golden Plug, bought in 2019 and 2020, and they're both nearly silent. Hard to find a quiet system in the cheap stuff. While the Line 6 Relay G10, of which I have two, is dead silent (but not as convenient, as it requires a base unit attached to the amp).

I think the white noise really all depends on everyone’s setup. Literally every setup is different and everyone has different results with these because of it. That’s why I always say “Try it out right away and return it if it doesn’t work.” And if you don’t want to mess with cheap stuff, save up $350-$400 and get an entry level Shure/SENNHEISER wireless

Thanks for all your work posting these reviews 😊. I'm having distortion issues with the Boss WL20 and my passive mandolin pickup ... so might try Brian Fay and Swiff WS70. I'm keeping 5G band free for the tablet mixer.
@ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 2 года назад
5G does decently well because there are more available options for those frequencies than 2.4ghz. So you can still do a 5.8 system, just leave it away from your mixer 🤘The NUX systems are supposed to work well with active pickup type situations too 👍

@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks. I got the ammoon 5.8, like yours, but when plugging straight into a Behringer XR18 on gig one Day... the tablet disconnected. (Using 5.8 modem). So my advice would be to leave the 5.8 for the digital mixer.
@ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 2 года назад
Yeah if it’s right into the mixer, that might cause dropouts. It’s a finicky game with some of these wireless for sure, and it involves trial and error 👍

@@ScottUhlMusic understand you mentioned the NUX B5RC works for acoustic, but what about the C5RC (same in your experience)? Did you have any issues with its TRS style jack that has a battery ground? Cheers

Great great content Scott! I just stumbled on to your vids. Subscribed ! I have the Xvive with 2 transmitters(A/B for different tunings). All seems to be working well but figured it could not hurt to have a backup and a different frequency range and I am getting the Swiff. If I wanted 2 transmitters would I have to buy 2 separate units? I did not see an option to buy just 1 transmitter. If I did buy 2 units, do you know if I would have any issues? When using the Xvives I basically turn the transmitter off and turn the other on when switching and it works just fine. Thanks!

Good choice with the Swiff! That's a good question actually. I only have 1 transmitter and 1 receiver for every single one of these cheap systems that I use. So I'm honestly not sure. My guess is with the swiff audio one it won't work... with that one, it auto pairs to each other. Whereas with the XVive or other ones you choose channel 1, 2, 3 or 4... so you can set them manually. So my guess is you'll need one where you can set the channel manually.

My singer/guitarist just bought one and he loved it (cool design), but unfortunately he left it in his backpack weird and it broke haha. But it was a cool unit until that happened!

I don't think I get drop outs in particular, as much as I get pops and crackles through the system. Do you think that means I am on the wrong channel or frequency? Great video by the way.
@ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 2 года назад
Hmm… “pops and crackles” sound like something different. Sometimes I get that, but not often. Usually interference is when it cuts out. When you change the channel does it go away?

@@ScottUhlMusic on The Phenyx Pro PTG-12 I can’t ever tell what channel it’s on. I also have the Sennheiser Ew G4 which also gets those crackles sometimes but is way more reliable. I just wish it had the form factor of the phenyx Pro. Sennheiser also makes their “cheaper” ($300) instruments pick up but those Always fail on me probably because they are 2.4. I need something pro for big stages that doesn’t have me attached to my violin by bodypack. Like the Phenyx but more reliable. What’s the best unit for that in your opinion?

@@PhearNone7 If you need something for big and pro stages, you gotta spend the money. The Swiff Audio is a good cheap one... but when I play the bigger shows it's my sennheiser every time. I have that 5.8GHz Ammoon wireless. It works great with my GTRS guitar. My Lekato WS-70 does something strange to the attack of the notes, like a slow attack gate or something. I don't like that one much. The Boss WL20 is very reliable and rock solid for me. I might get another Ammoon in case anything happens to the one I have already.
