I think Kim Byeong In was a complex character. I was sitting on the fence from episode 1-18. I wasn't sure if I liked him or not, however, I was grateful that he would do anything to protect the Queen, even though sometimes he made really bad decisions. Episode 19 made the choice for me. I'm just happy he died a hero and I think that was the best and most reasonable ending for him.

He stole my heart from the start. This is what a man should be like, how should man love like. At times his teary eyes would look to me redundant amongst all the comedy going on in the beginning, but in the end of the series the most logical love story line was all about him, his sacrifice and loyalty.

Mee too like, he really loves her.. everything he did is to protect her because everybody wants to harm her.. and he was not really expecting for something in return, maybe at first 😭 i cried so much when he died.. like gurl where can i find a man that can love me that way 😭 his eyes is just very expressive esp when he looks at the queen

He showed the audience a different kind of love. From the beginning he had only one goal, that was to protect the queen and he did that until the end. I really love his character role. There are times when he has to make bad things or decisions just to protect the queen but he did that just for the sake of love, even if he is not the one that the queen loves he still loves and protects her until the end. He got my heart.

he was my one-pick since the start and i felt sad when he did questionable things. but ofc he did what he did bcos he believed it was right for his love and i cannot blame him for all of that. he loved with all his heart to the point nothing was left of him. and that's really sad. his love was tragic.

Even if he live, he would have to watch his lover be in someone’s arm. Although it hurts me, I feel like it was better for him to be gone then watch and suffer because that would’ve hurt me more 😭

He fit himself into the role of brother, lover, protector whenever so yong needed him. He even entered the palace to protect so yong without expecting anything in return, finally he died protecting her. He is the one and only true lover of So yong. ❤️❤️❤️him loads. He deserved better.

This is a hell of a complex, but amazing character. I was and still am so in love with him and Na In Woo's flawless acting. The way his eyes were really painfull looking, and how he just chose to simply crack a whole nation's government to protect his beloved one. That's a loving man. Just perfect. The only other character that I saw in doramas that felt as complex and apologizable as him, was Go General in River where the moon rises

Na In Woo did such a good job in this role, that it won him the lead in River Where The Moon Rises at short notice. This actor will go on to do great things, he doesn’t always have to speak, his eyes and facial expressions do it for him. So emotive. 😘

Thanks for this video. Byeong In really love So Yong.. Her happiness means more than him. Byeong In is the only one that figured it out that So Yong is inside MR. Queen He is the one who keep her safe just like his promises. Im so glad the writer/producer make the last scene where So YOng said goodbye to Byeong In.. Byeong In love is run deep like ocean. he is king of second lead.. I cry so much..He keep his love and die in the name of love.. love that is so hard to believe that its real forever in my heart Byeong In >< So Yong

Byeong-in..loved your character...you loved kim so yong unconditionally. But she was just not meant for you but the king. I can feel the pain in your eyes everytime you see so yong always teary eyed and on the verge of crying.

I can't hate him......empathizing with him throughout the drama really opened my eyes to what Na In Woo saw while filming this project. If I was him, I can't help but feel the tears well-up too whenever I come across the female protagonist.

In two lives, he didn't get her. The first life would be Soyong jumping in the lake and die, so he lost her. The second life being Soyong getting the chef's spirit inside her, Byeongin working hard to save the relationship but the chef rejected him. In the end, sacrificing his life protecting Soyong and the chef.

ive loved him since his entry. i dont get why people are pissed off of him by saying he is obsessed as if they forgot in his first appearance he left his house because he wanted so yong happy as the new queen and he let her be. let her chose choljung until he knew choljung was the one who tried to kill so yong. i cant see people who ship choljung less than "stockholm syndrome" patient

I agree. Even if he was kinda obsessed at some point, he was willing to give her up so she could be happy. I think his actions are reasonable bc I wouldn’t want a friend to stay in a relationship w someone who potentially tried to kill her. All he wanted was to make sure she was safe until the end💔😭

I hate the fact that he kept getting rejected cos bonghwan is in her body. Yess that’s what I was thinking. Since she kissed him in the first couple of episodes, I felt she had the same soft spot for him. If they didn’t swap souls, she might have actually fallen for him. Poor guy😭🥺

Rewatching the whole series again coz why not. This is one of the best kdrama i have ever watched! I was freaking mad with byeong in way back when the drama is still on going. But as the episodes went by, i am slowly falling with the character and na in woo itself. Byeong in's love for so yong is so deep like an ocean. He's willing to sacrifice everything just for her.
