A man that loves the Lord, prays with you, loves your cooking, takes good care of you, always tells you that you're beautiful, showers you with gifts, and says he loves you every day is a keeper in my book. And on top of that he sings, dances, and does the dishes...WOW!!! You found a treasure, Justine. But you deserve it because you are just as wonderful as Ron is. God bless you both!
The problem is women in the modern world don't want that kind of man. Women of the modern world wants to be the dominant one and be in control of everything. If a man tries to care for her in every way and is willing to clean cook and do dishes and such and support her she looks at that like it's offensive. Basically like she's not capable of doing it herself. Women have changed so much. I actually gave up on dating because of it. I never thought I would see the day where a woman didn't appreciate a man who is loyal caring loving complementive doesn't mind cooking cleaning and just whatever for her.
I just want y’all to know that my husband and I have probably binged yalls videos more times than we can count. We just love y’all. Best Channel on Historical level and entertaining and just heartfelt. Blessings abound to you two. ❤
You two guys remind me of my parents who were as much in love with each other throughout their lives as they were when they first met. My father would say my mother was the most beautiful woman in the world, almost every day. You have that same aura of love kindness and fun they had. My sister and I were so lucky. Never a raised voice or argument throughout their lives. They lived Christian values without judgement of others.
Justine are y’all going to have two weddings? One modern one and one 18th century one? I would love to see you as a 18th century bride. You’re such a beautiful person inside and out
I’m a frugal shopper, but on special occasions I get my husband & son a Black Diamond steak(I’m not a big red meat eater). So, I got 2 of those, made 30 min yeast rolls that melt in your mouth baked in my cast iron skillet, baked potatoes with bacon & cheese melted on it, apple pie using my canned pie filling. I made the crust ahead of time & froze it to save time. They loved it!
My husband and I met on Valentine’s Day 26 years ago, we got engaged on Valentine’s Day 25 years ago and married on Valentine’s Day 22 years ago this year. He will be my valentine for the rest of this life and until we meet again hopefully in the next life. Happy Valentine’s Day you two we love all your videos from the Emerald Isle (Ireland) xxx
Have only been watching for 5 minutes and couldn't wait to comment. I just love you two...so much in love and most of your life ahead of you. I'm 67 and have seen and been through a lot. I feel like you complement each other well and will have an awesome life together!
Anything someone else makes for me is a great Valentine’s dinner. Unfortunately my Valentine doesn’t cook and her idea of washing the dishes is to lick them clean 🐶 🥰💕❤️ I love her just the same. I must say she thinks a little warmed green beans on her kibble is gourmet cooking and she appreciate me more than my ex ever did.
You two are one of the most charmingly authentic couples on RU-vid. I love your channel and the work you put in to researching the history of everything you make
Hello Justine and Ron Happy Valentines Day from Ohio! Question when you baked the chocolate tart, how do you know to bake in the dutch oven verses the outdoor oven?
Ohmygosh I have been trying chocolate pies/tarts ever since I read The Help and I haven’t found an excellent one yet. I’m SO EXCITED to try your version of the 1800s chocolate tart!!! It looks exactly right!
I just bet you, that the pie w/ whipped cream and sliced strawberries would be just dandy. Hold the sprinkles. As always great job! I sure enjoy your hard work.
Thank you so much! The full recipe is in the top pinned comment on Early American we always put the recipes there, that's our main channel where we do all of the cooking. Thank you again.
This was a heartwarming and fun episode. You two are the best couple I've ever seen. Your personalities are perfect together. No pretense, no judgment, just true love. God surely has put you two together ❤️
I am so in love with your videos! I just found the channel about two weeks ago and I have been binge watching ever since!! I find that I feel so relaxed while watching and I have to eat something that is similar to whatever you guys are eating because it looks so good I feel like I’m starving! I have always loved history and used to get so much work done around my home when I basically pretended to be working on a homestead in the prairie days.
Yes, also think Justine should write a book on all the best of her historical receipts! Really enjoying you Valentine's day dinner! You two are so fun! God bless you both!
The Spanish developed a chocolate dipping sauce. This was probably the earliest one for Europeans. It's possible the indigenous peoples of Central and South America had one as well Siri
I love how much more comfortable y’all are getting not only with each other but with us!! It’s so enduring to see your “less formal”-ness on camera!! Y’all are too cute!! And Justine is so precious with her precise descriptions while Ron describes how the potatoes have “good chicken grease”!! 🤣🤣
Valentine's dinner we had venison BBQ that my son shot this year, double baked potatoes, spicy pickled beets and asparagus, plus a kind of cream cake combination with strawberry sauce. I do hope you write A COOKBOOK Justine it would be a keeper.
Love all your content ideas. I live completely off grid in a 900 sq. Foot farm house. Collect rain water from the metal roof. Heat with wood burning stove. Use candles & oil lamps. I have a old treddle sewing machine that I use. I have animals, garden & fruit trees. I enjoy you videos.
😂 Ron, you’re making me laugh about your review. The tiny bones. Justine, you make it funnier when you pick on Ron. 😄 Awwww! Mish! Mish! 💕💕💕💕💕 ❤ Y’all should try Crio Brew it’s a company that has made chocolate take the place of coffee. I haven’t bought it yet and try it. Chocolate covered strawberries are so yummy. I haven’t tried the coconut. I bet it’s delicious!
Needed to use milk or dark chocolate bars. Not baking chocolate. Out here in California we can buy Chocolate covered huge strawberries online. But 1820 you have no internet. Sorry.
For Valentine's day I made my husband heart shaped french toast and heart shaped eggs for breakfast. Then we had some beef patties, roasted sweet potatoes and fried cabbage. With homemade pretzels for dessert. 🥰
My husband and I went to Peru and stayed at the Best Western on the same street as the National Chocolate Museum in Cuzco. We went several times for chocolate fondue: strawberries, kiwi, banana, mango, grapes, pineapple, and papaya. It was amazing! The kiwi and papaya were my favorites. I love chocolate covered strawberries, so I knew I'd like the chocolate fondue. They sold the chocolate husks for chocolate tea, which is also very good. I prefer regular sugar to honey, though. I LOVE your new crocks! Ron seems to have good taste in women and gifts. 😀 All the best!
I enjoyed the history of valentine's day.The chocolate tart looks tasty.I like chocolate and a little bit of bakers chocolate now and again.I like the valentine's day shows that you all do.and Early America Frontier Patriot shows.I met my soulmate back in 2008 married her in 2009. You know how to make me laugh at times. Happy late valentine's day to you both David Back from Menifee co KY.
For Valentine’s Day we had chicken and veggie’s…no chocolate cuz we’re dieting, lol. Normally it’d be something a lil fancier. That spoon is so pretty 😊 I got milk glass, but it’s my happy place, lol 😊 Your dinner looked amazing ❤
I make a lot of homemade candy & dip a lot of things for Christmas. You used baking chocolate(no sugar) I use milk, dark & white chocolate. You add a spoonful of coconut oil to regular chocolate, that makes it smooth & have a shine to it. The easiest way to melt chocolate, keep from burning it & able to take your time doing big batches is using a crockpot on low! I have 3 crockpots going at one time from large to medium to the mini I use for dipping.
That spoon from an 18th century mold, and those two lovely crocks from Candy's store - beautiful! I'd probably use the bigger one as a cookie jar, too. And I'm so glad you found each other! A loving bond like yours is a thing to be treasured. I have to be careful on the internet and am on a tight budget. But I'm wishing you the best for funding the house of your dreams! ❤
Justine - your being sick twice in short space of time - my two grandsons and I went through same. 2 weeks we had non stop coughing and flu symptoms. We got gloriously better for 4 days and then whammy we were sick again and still are. I think something like a double whammy THING going around. It happened about 5 years ago as well. Get better - take Vit D3 -- 5000 ug and zinc. Get well.
I am dyin laughing! The Arms of the Angel infomercial was unexpectedly hilarious with the cat!!! You guys are so dang cute. You’re doing the thing. I’ve always wished to live this lifestyle & hoping to at least create a homestead. History is so fascinating & addictive. There’s so much treasure to find whether it’s stories, food, clothing, it’s simply amazing.
Justine and Ron... question? It probably is a dumb question however I am just curious... Do you all really live in that amazing cabin? I would absolutely love to live in a cabin like that!! Love ur channels!!
Oh my goodness you guys are so funny, I was actually laughing so much at times that I had tears in my eyes. You guys are so in love and so good together too. I love the things you guys share with us. I'm going to try making the pie and see if my husband gives it a 15 outta 10 lol. Happy Valentines Day
"I wanna have some of this with some milk later. It's valentines day, please let me do it?!" "RON, YOU'RE LACTOSE INTOLERANT!" That would've been the correct answer, Justine! 😂
BTW, I love goat milk. It's better than cow milk, imo. And you can take lactaid, which is a tablet! People who are lactose intolerant (which is most people, actually....it's just worse for some than others) no longer produce galactose, which is what baby mammals make to digest their mother's milk (it is exceedingly rare to have primary lactose intolerance in infancy, and is a death sentence without special lactose free formula....secondary lactose intolerance in early childhood is usually caused by open gut syndrome)....lactose intolerance beyond the natural age of weaning (around 7 years for humans) is normal in all mammals because our diet stops being dependant on mother's milk, so the body stops producing galactose to break down the lactose. Lactaid is galactose in a pill, which helps to break down those milk sugars. If you don't like the milk version, just take the pills when you're having dairy! Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Lol
I get the percs for both of yall. another great episode. would like to see more of yalls (Texas accent) day to day activities. happy Valentines Day to u both.
Nothing beats wholesome cooking. Great vid. As for the lactose intolerance, I have it too unfortunately. I think there are lactaid tablets you can have before eating or drinking dairy products that might help you Ron 😁
Justine, 20+ years ago an old timer came into the liquor store where I worked and I had been sick for a few weeks, this is what he told me to do: take a tsp of black pepper and put it into a shot of Rye whiskey (has to be Rye whiskey) sit on side of your bed take the shot with pepper in it then cover up with 2 or more blankets, you will sweat the sickness out as you sleep. It's disgusting but it works.
Your chickens eat the tops of the strawberries? And I am curious as to why you don't save your egg whites and make an omelette or something with it because back then they would not waste anything. Love you guys and have been watching a couple years now. Happy Valentine's Day to you both. 💕🥂
Justine I’m so sorry I didn’t get to meet you Thursday when we went to ste Gen. loved meeting Ron and Kandey but was wanting to meet you also. Happy Valentine’s Day!💕
Happy Valentine's Day you too cute show enjoyed it one thing if you're lactose-intolerant use coconut milk it will help you a lot better and you can thin drink milk
That chocolate tart looked awesome! As did all the meal. Loved your home decorations, too! Very romantically festive. Those crocks were awesome, Ron! You are such a good fiance. I have gotten my husband interested in watching. He got a big kick out of the episode when Justine went down the well and was attacked by the skunk. LOL It was fun to watch that again! Thanks for having another great Chew & Chat. I hope you feel better, Justine. God bless you both. Sue ♥
