I suppose the most satisfying rifle is the new Type 38 Arisaka.

I feel like the only person in the game who loves the Lebel infantry. Awesome iron sights (one of the non-quantifiable qualities of an infantry rifle), fast rate of fire second only to the M95, great sweet spot, and 8 rounds. The annoying reload animation can be cancelled by quickly switching to your pistol and back or with a melee swing. You get good at it with practice.

I’ve used the Lawrence of Arabia’s SMLE since launch and what a gun it’s amazing I just wish you could preform a mad minute

There are better ways to use the Lee Enfield reload system to your advantage - once you have 5 or less shots left and you're out of combat just hit reload and cancel instantly to just reload one clip, then you've got between 6 and 10 shots left, which is more than enough and you don't have to worry about reloading when you're in danger. It basically means you get to choose when you reload without having to reload individual rounds, unlike most other rifles. It may not sound that useful a tip but it really is.

Wow can’t believe that the vertili vertali isn’t in this list. It fits the close range gameplay perfectly and still does good in long range.

The Lebel infantry is quite good as well and goes unnoticed quite a bit. Its my go to for infantry scout weapons.

The dirty Martini Henry Smg is the MP18 trench But I’m starting to love the Arisaca

Went to the shooting range with a friend who has the SMLE he let me shoot 10 rounds. Was magic, brass butt left the slightest of marks on my shoulder, the bolt action was perfect. Such a joy.

Quick tip when reloading the SMLE with less than 5 rounds. Just press fire after the reload started and you will only load a stripper clip and no individual rounds.

Last night got the sawtooth knife, the sword and a bunch of weapon skins, I'm happy😁

Hi, you didn't mention one of gewers biggest strength: it will at any distance ( to the chest) do a damage that guarantee you an assist that counts as kill. Keep doing a great job, i love your videos.

might be a lil bit late but: the n-block of the M95 ejects out of the bottom only when 4 rounds have been fired and the 5th one is chambered. if there is ammo left in the clip, the shooter has to take it out the way it came in: through the top

The Arisaka has blown me away lately. For me, it's a perfect in between SMLE and M.95 with good speed and a nice sweetspot.

M95 was my favourite for a long time (100 ss) with MH a close second. I have to say the new Type 38 Arisaka is my new fave - it's pretty much almost a direct upgrade to the M95 and it has the best iron sights in the game IMO.

I just love the Arisaka. Good rate of fire, and short range sweet spot so you can be aggressive. Best assault smg? Automatico M1918. I mean really what else.

Loving the new Arisaka rifle. Very similiar to the SMLE i feel (not sure about stats wise) and very powerfull in a close to mid range fights. And i think it looks very good with the legendary skin.

Westie it’s so exciting to hear that there will be a new bf1 series, also please do some more bf1 weapon history! (They are my favorite!!!!) My favorite smg is probably the automatico m1918 because the no need to aim. Thx for hearing me out!

I use the moundragon in the medic class. its been my favorite and I just like the gun feels.

For me its the Arisaka, then Martini Henry, then the SMLE

It really all depends what map you're playing on, what class and even the people you're playing with on your team. Also what the apposite team is using in terms of class and weapons themselves. Oh and the game mode your playing. So taking all these factors into consideration, then and only then can you begin to decide what weapon truly is the best for that given situation.

Guys I love play with gew98 infantry it's very fun to play. Suffer from low damages on close combat but I can kill all others sniper on distance becose thay don't expect me to have ge98 with iron scope

You may as well use Carbine variants wherever possible. Then again, my favourite has to be the Arisaka; it has a close sweet spot and a high muzzle velocity.

I think the best msg in bf1 is the french (don’t know how to spell it) is the rebolles carbine because the recoil isn’t bad and for medium to long range it has a bipod. I think it’s about a 5 to 7 shot kill if you aim for the body and u can choose between semi auto and full auto depending on wether or not you are better at tap fire than holding the trigger. And it’s a 4 shot kill if you aim for the head.

I’ve grown to really like the mosin nagant infantry, that and the lebel are my favorite

The SMLE Infantry is my best weapon according to my stats. I like to play with infantry variants in general because I am good with iron sights and it makes it harder for the enemy to locate my position. As Westie saide the SMLE has good sights, excellent accuracy, a perfect sweet spot in most cases, and the 10 round capacity means you can get multiples kills quickly. I also love the Lebel 1886 Infantry, but that's more of a personnal choice since I'm French. :)

hey westie, I would just like to inform you that on the cte there are new skins for the base game scout and medic rifles and they have also added new melee weapons which are ararebo, yatagan sword and the ottoman kilij. I hope you had a very happy new year and I hope to see you on the battlefield. edit: I believe that the melee weapons are coming with the northern sea update and the skins are coming with the apocalypse dlc because of the name of the weapons and the weapons skins.

I personally like the Mosin-Nagant Infantry, I really like the high muzzle velocity, and the iron sights are ones I can actually use, unlike a lot of the infantry rifles

The Mosin Nagant M91 Infantry and The Ross MkIII Marksman are both my favorite Rifles.

I've always wondered what #2 was and I wanted it to because it was so good in the campaign. Now I know.

It would be cool if you haven't ran out of rounds in a clip in the GEWEHR M.95 that your hand would come up and cach the clip so when you need spare rounds you still have that clip with other rounds in it at ready.

Yep my findings not too different than yours...SMLE is a great infantry rifle. Gewerh 95 is also good. I've been experimenting and I like the arisaka and nagant quite well as the sights are nice. The Lebel however has a very fine sight and I like it quite well as an infantry gun. The SMLE is nice but sometimes the sight confuses me in the heat of battle and I actually aim with the side post by mistake and miss. The Lebels sight is open and comes to a crisp needle point. Very nice

I do love the SMLE Mk. III. Both in BF1 and irl. Mine is a 1917 LSA built Mk. III with the magazine cutoff. I was actually kinda happy to find a Mk. III and not a MK. III* since the standard Mk. III has the magazine cutoff and is rather interesting to me

Haven’t tried the Arisika yet but the with the gewehr 95 I wreck house. It’s so fun.

My top 3 rifles 3). Lebel Infantry, good damage, nice sweetspot, beautiful inron-sights well rounded overall. 2). SMLE MKIII enough said 1). Carcano, this thing is just so incredibly smooth to use, has 6 rounds over standard 5, may not 1 hit kill to body but the smoothness and speed allow for a fast 2nd killing shot.

I agree with u Westie, once you go with the smle u will get addicted though I thought it should fire more quicker cause in reality it fires even faster than m95. Shame that it has to balanced to fit the game.

Honestly... I can't seem to let go of the type 38 arisaka and mosin nagant. They (to me) feel sooooo good in the game.

My goto bolt action rifle is the Gewehr 98 marksmen. Not sure why I use this one more but the MM variant is on the top of my kills list. This may not seem like much given that a lot of people tend to use one gun that ends up with more kills then then all the other guns in the game combined but I am more of a "use whatever random gun I feel like today" person.

My favourite Rifle in the game is the SMLE Mark 3 Carbine. The lens sights make a already great gun greater.

The Martini-Henry isn't a lever-action. It has a lever, but if I'm remembering correctly it's considered a falling-block action.

Love those rifles, gewehr 95 is good only thing similar to that is the Carcano carbine. Even though it's got faster firerate than the gewehr it's so weak I got a head from a good distance out and it gave 97 damage.

Finally someone points out that the Vetterli- Vitali is the best. I really liked the Martini-Henry but i really just dont use it as much. My favorite is the Vetterli-Vitali. I love it. So satisfying.

Awesome video Westie! I love to use both the Martini Henry and the Lee Enfield, they are my favorite weapons in the scout class and they see a lot of usage. As someone who has a long family history of service in the British Military; a Great Great Grandfather killed at Gallipoli, another Great Great Grandfather killed in the Battle of the Somme and a Great Grandfather who fought and survived the Battle of Jutland. I am so glad to see that these two legendary British rifles got the notoriety that they deserve. Now I'm really hoping that one of the new weapons to be released in the Apocalypse dlc will be the British standard issue Webley Mk. VI Revolver. Especially if it is going to be about some of the notorious battles of WW1 like the Battle of the Somme.

Seems like the vetterli is underrated, honestly for me it's the best infantry rifle, it has the best sweetspot for close engagements and quite comfortable to use

You know the Japanese fought in World War One against german navy. Though allied powers basically ignored them after war I thought we would be getting the arisaka in turning tides dlc

Great picks Westie, but I would name 2 rifles for at least honorable mentions: Gewehr 98 sniper, the fastest muzzle velocity makes it superb at long range sniping. The newly instroduced Arisaka type 38, very consistent, good rof, good sweet spot range, not as dynamic as the SMLE, but still a very good rifle.

I happen to agree with this list, but I am biased towards the SMLE Infantry, having used it extensively, with a total of 59 Service Stars with this rifle.

M91/30 Infantry deserves a mention for having what I think are the most user-friendly iron sights in the scout class.

3. Type 38 2. Lebel 1. Vitterli Though I like to run with the Gewehr 98 infantry at times cause you can’t beat that muzzle velocity. Gewehr 98 is certainly my favorite with sniper scope.

Vetterli-Vitali carbine and the Selbstadler m1916 Factory are the best two guns. Closely followed by the Farquhar-Hill Optical.
