Gus is a lovely Man ,"But Tim" ,Sir Tony, Phil ,Helen ,Carrenza, Stuart, John ,Raksha, Matt, will always be at the heart of Time Team , RIP Mick💝. Still love the new Time Team though. Thank you
I love the passion and energy that these people portray, it makes the whole(excuse the pun) exercise so much exciting to feel that you are there, loved the bit where the gold coin was found, priceless.
Just stop whining about the new people in Time Team, would you! Tony and Phil are 75 and 73 years old. Let those guys do other things in life other than presenting Time Team episodes just because you folks liked them doing that 30!! years ago. Be happy Tony even consider being part of the new Time Team in his own way. And please let Phil Grow old without putting pressure on everyone to force him into a trench at 73 years at age. Just stop watching If this configuration doesnt please you….
Michael Wood (the "In search of The Dark Ages" man) believes that it's just off the A1 just north of Doncaster. I'd love to know if the area's ever been investigated/excavated.
at 3:35 the "mystery" object is a hazzard mount for either a light machine gun in the anti-aircraft mode or a range finder theres an example ontop a pillbox in Mundersley Norfolk
The old time team were just full of characters, their enthusiasm and interaction-chemistry really made every episode interesting and entertaining - I have yet to finish an episode with the new team, and please find a presenter like Tony with genuine interest and character not just someone acting a part.
Apparently within the German Underground Hospital, some of the builders that died; were walled up along the passageways... I can't remember why they said that this was done for, but it does put flesh on the bones of the history of the place... quite literally...!
Bloody royalists. My family owned Brampton Bryan which is shown on one of the maps. We survived the royalist siege but my forbear Brilliana Conway died as a result of the difficulty of the siege.
So the local Crapaud's and the Channel Island Occupation Society plus the Societie Jerriase, not to mention the local kids have never dug and researched the area?
Oh dear, oh dear. When you watch the original Time Team, it becomes clear that the new parvenues are a mere shadow of former greatness. Perhaps the kinder and proper thing to do is to put the artifacts of this fabulous series into a video gravepit, to allow future archaeologist/researchers to discover them again, and speculate grandly on their antecedents and lifestyles. Job creation, at the very least.
Raksha is kinda busy these days, as current President of the Council for British Archaeology, IOW, the UK's top archaeologist. Which is way awesome. She is such a great communicator and leader.
Not a fan of amateur enthusiast Sir TR who over the years developed an “I’m in charge” attitude. Funny how he wanted to focus on Jersey, tax haven and his home. Dr. Gus takes some time to warm up to but I think he has found his stride. I still miss Mick, the atheist who was fascinated by early Christianity! Old or new, TT rocks.
What strikes me with even ancient digs, there are never any toilet structures discovered. Even a so balled 'bog hole' should visible because the different foliage present ... Just wondering ...
It's very interesting how many of the people on this programme have speech impediments. I love the diversity. They're white of course, which is a shame, but a magnificent range anyway.
@@johnstockburn6396 Just to clarify, John works for one of the speech impediment charities and gets a large salary for his work, so as is always the case, his vested interest is in not helping people, so he can continue to collect his cheque.
@@williamwilliam5066 Do you work? Do you get paid for it? You appear to resent the fact that Tony and John get paid more than you. I imagine some people will be earning less than you. I wonder if they harbour as much bitterness towards you as you seem to do towards T and J. And you don't have to give away all your worldly wealth in order to qualify as a sincere left-winger. Mick, for example, was a committed Marxist - it didn't mean he had taken a vow of poverty! (Incidentally, I too love the diversity of Time Team in both its original and its modern iterations. Fortunately, some of the tiresome complaints about the new version being too "woke" now seem to have calmed down a bit.)
