Tara, you're piecing this "sub plot" together very well. Again, no spoilers.... but I will say that you're "heading in the right direction".

Saying he is just a baby reminded me of what is the actual age of the baby. Looking it up he would be about the same age as Anakin. Probably born shortly after Anakin. Maybe 8 or so years younger. They really will probably keep things about the species out of canon because Lucas never wanted to tell a serious backstory to Yoda. Leave the mystery was his idea. One of the worst things I think the world building of Star Wars stories does is explain how different beings are in the galaxy and how that affects their relations with each other. Thinking about this more the baby may be Filoni and Favreau's way of keeping balance in the force. Anakin is born and something else would be born to counter the balance. Because its another species just means it does not age the same. Eh an idea but interesting.

Holy crap, I watched this, typed a bit in Discord for a while, then noticed in my recommends 20 mins prior around the same time I watched the reaction, CNN uploaded the video reporting that Carl passed away. Dammit!

A good episode in my opinion. That "refinery" was clearly a facility affiliated with the Tarkin Initiative, a Top Secret think-tank within the Imperial Military's Department of Advanced Weapons Research Division, the Director of which was none other than Orson Callen Krennic from Rogue One.
