I disagree with the criticism of HG Tudor. He is extremely knowledgeable of Narcissism and appears to have created a great resource for people feeling pain from toxic relationships. I admire him for his honesty about his motivation and his own narcissism. He also is very highly creative, has a fantastic command of the English language, and is a riot!!

HG Tudor has got me to see that my ex-husband and his beloved mother aren’t just weirdos, but narcissist weirdos. I didn’t realize how complex the disorder was till I discovered his channel. The man is a lifesaver, and we Tudorites absolutely agree with this. As for HG the man, I’d rather not know what he looks like; in my head, he’s Stephen Frye and I don’t want to spoil the fun.

I read an article that said that we as human beings aren’t emotionally wired to receive as much news and information as we are getting today. It said that throughout time, we only received news about our little village or region, and that increased with newspapers to be our nation, and somewhat, the world. Only recently have we been inundated with news and information from all over the globe about many horrific events. We as humans cannot psychologically withstand so much horror, violence, and suffering. We cannot process it. And this leads to feeling hopeless, weak, fearful, helpless, vulnerable, and angry. The article recommended that we limit how much news outside of our community we consume.

Exactly! I always use the example of those who lived through 2 world wars and the Great Depression. Andrew, today we have so much horrific news coming at us allllll the time from everywhere in the world--that we cannot feel empathetic towards all of it. It's the Emergency Room syndrome. I was about to say exactly the same thing. With the internet at our fingertips and the 24/7 news cycle, if we didn't screen out most of the suffering that we are exposed to day-in, day-out, we'd be plunged into deep depression and struggle to get out of bed in the morning.
@jeannelipham2583
@jeannelipham2583 6 дней назад
@pennylando3145 That absolutely happened to me after 9/11. I watched it on TV in real time, and I get the chills, even just writing this, when I think of that day. I finally had to stop thinking, talking or watching news, about it. I was sobbing all the time, lost weight I could not afford to lose, and became suicidal. Lesson learned. But I can get that way when watching programs about the concentration camps in WWII, or children harmed,other animals harmed etc. It breaks my heart. The older I get, the more I am likely to react in an empathetic manner.

I love people and the beauty of the world and of course I’m aware of what’s going on ( in this day and age) who isn’t I just choose not to fill my days with it all, it’s how I got through personal grief. Having been through a similar experience 11 years ago this week, I empathise. I found that I 'came out the other side' of it after 7 years, and the entire experience has definitely changed my sensitivity to pain and suffering. You are wise to limit your exposure to such things; it is better by far to focus on joy and positivity whenever you can - and it isn't burying your head in the sand. It's simply making a more positive choice. By raising your focus, you bring receptive people up with you, rather than joining others empathetically in their suffering, which does neither them or you much good. Good luck💕

Having worked in State & Federal government as a press secretary, I encountered many psychopaths. The seduction with psychopaths is real, as their personalities are engaging. I soon learned how to navigate these relationships/ encounters, but the trick is to use psychopathic traits to remain ahead of them. In which case, you learn quickly what you yourself are capable of.

I read, so not sure if true, that James Fallon's family line included seven alleged murderers, including Lizzie Borden. His reason for not being violent or a serial killer was that his childhood was stable, normal and happy. He was highly functional and intelligent, extremely competitive and a high achiever. Some of these people add value to society so, should we be weeding them out completely? Can we differentiate between a violent and non violent psychopath from a brain scan? RIP James Fallon. I am convinced he's an overweight older man with white hair that I saw on a interview talking about Meghan and Andrew once. I wish I could remember the man's name or the interview he was on because it bugs me so much. He said he was a journalist, I believe, who was in the military around the same time Andrew served. It was just one interview I saw him on, and I haven't seen him again, but I was just so certain it was him.

He may be, I don’t know. But brutally attacking someone who questions your opinion is childish, thin-skinned, and a definite sign of a bully. I question HG’s definition of a “psychopath” because, as I understand it, the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath is that a psychopath will use violence to get what they want (battery, torture, sexual assault/abuse, rape, and murder), and a sociopath will stop short of violence (or has so far). So HG is confessing to having committed crimes.

Regarding scrolling past certain articles , for me it’s because I don’t want certain things in my brain . Once you see something , you can’t erase it. I saw a video yesterday of a police car who ran down a runaway cow , purposely , in order to stop it from running down the street . I think sometimes I don’t read certain articles or watch certain videos in order to protect myself , because I know I would have empathy or feel sympathy for the person or animal involved .

Fascinating and lively convo between you two. There is a difference between a sociopath and psychopath. Dr Robert Hare is renowned for his Psychopathy checklist test as brought up by Shauna. His book, "Without Conscience" is worth a read. Andrew is right to say that Psychopathy is a spectrum disorder as is Sociopathy. Sociopaths have a conscience, albeit a weak one, and will often justify something they know to be wrong. By contrast, psychopaths will believe that their actions are justified and feel no remorse for any harm done.

I just finished watching HG Tudor's second interview (watched the first one a couple of days ago). What struck me most in both interviews is how we in this particular pro-Monarchy pro-Royal Family community are very vocally negative when it comes to narcissists and psychopaths, sociopaths, etc. -- yet the guests seem to forget what he is, come across as charmed by him, and readily open up to him. I'm interested in how the next interviews come across. Thank you for this very informative interview.
