Oh, I didn't think of that, of Catherine as a photographer, being the best person to capture those great shots of her children. Arthur is right. The children and William would be very comfortable with her taking pictures. And this does come through so much in the pictures she takes. Their smiles are so joyful and natural! Am glad Arthur is one of those who supports Catherine's venture into photography. I understand that there are some who feel like she is taking away photography jobs from actual photographers. So am glad Arthur is choosing to look at it in the way he has. In the end, it is not about who has taken the picture, it is the fact that the picture and the moment was captured and shared with us.
Precisely! Catherine isn't taking work away from anyone. There is plenty to go around, and she has genuine talent. There is nobody better to take photos of her beautiful children.
William, George, Charlotte and Louis are not the only one .. Camilla chose Catherine for the pictures in Country Live! She would never have done this, If this rumours about a strained relationship of these two were true .. But Drama sells more clicks in the Internet than harmony🥴🥴🥴
@di942842 I agree! Children feel much more comfortable and pose more naturally when their parents are taking the photos. I will always remember how daunting it was to watch Prince William as a toddler surrounded in the garden at Kensington Palace by the press pack pointing cameras in his face. The look on Princess Diana's face seemed troubled as she watched her boy stare at all these people pointing cameras at him. I applaud Princess Catherine for her approach to keeping the public updated on her children's growth and progress while shielding them from the prying eye of a professional photographer's camera angles. It seems when professional photographers are employed to take photos, they are chosen carefully and respect the children's space.
I worked with Arthur’s brother decades ago (late 1970s and early 1980s) . He was a very capable accountant and I learned so much from him. He spoke so highly of Arthur and inspired in me a great admiration for him.
Shauna: you're a sympathetic & empathetic interviewer. It's part conversation, part interrogation, always interesting as you're always interested, not just rushing to the next question. Bravo! You're a natural!
@SusanRobbins I think that's the best compliment any interviewer can receive, and I fully agree! Many interviewers seem to stick with their scripted notes and are obviously determined to get every pre-planned question answered. Sometimes the best interviews are conducted when the conversation veers off into unexpected territory that the interviewer could not have planned in advance, and it sometimes reveals such delightful stories!
This comment sums it up perfectly. Arthur is the most delightful and gracious man and Shauna is brilliant at interviewing and basically being a very kind human. Enjoyed it all immensely, thank you Arthur and Shauna 😊
@@thevintageread what does "my L plates on" mean? Ole American here dazzled by Aussie's lingo! And I 1000% agree with all below who applaud your grace & talents!
My 20 year old daughter is ambivalent towards the Royals. She can't understand why I have so much respect for them. She recently returned from her first trip to London (from Sydney) and rang me excitedly one evening because she'd done the long walk up the Mall to Buckingham Palace and she saw a motorcade of cars and motorbikes driving towards the palace gates and it was King Charles and Camilla. She commented on how excited she was to spot them, even though she wasn't a Royal fan. I told her, "That is the magic of Royalty."
Lovely story, thank you for sharing. When people ask me why, its hard to explain other than, well thats my family. Doesnt make sense really but thats how I feel.
I appreciated seeing the late Queen at her Jubilee, I felt it was the last time we may see her. The effort she made to show herself to her people still makes me cry. Lovely man Mr Edwards. The love story between Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth is a true one, ups and downs but look how long it lasted. His funeral was the most poignant I have seen, just what he wanted, and the Queen was magnificent in her solitude.
Dear Shauna, well you certainly hit the „journalistic jackpot“! Congratulations on securing Arthur Edward’s for an interview! YOU GO GIRL 🎉 🎊 ! Your simply the best ❤!!! Greetings from Germany 🥰🙋🏻♀️
What an absolute joy to watch two people who are excellent at their respective crafts talking about these historic photos - thank you so much, Arthur Edwards is a legend and an English treasure due to his incredible work 💕🙌
I’ve always had a soft spot for Arthur edwards, he always seemed like a proper gent, after listening to him being interviewed, my thoughts have been confirmed. A wonderful interview Shauna.
Athur's picture of Diana with the Taj Mahal in the background is far better than the usual ones that are published as she has such a great smile 😊 Arthur has far more dignity and decency than any paparazzi...
I absolutely love this man .His love and respect for the royal family is second to none. And his pictures are amazing. Thank-you for having him on as a guest !absolutely love your show it is so unique as are you.❤
Arthur is a huge favourite of mine. Thankyou for interviewing him. I feel he is a man of high integrity and his knowledge of the RF over decades is unmatched.
If only every one of us could be as kind hearted and generous of spirit as Arthur Edwards. I love hearing his stories and these interviews about his book are so interesting and enlightening. Wonderful interview.
Hi Shauna and one and all. I love Arthur, such a lovely true gentleman. Will look forward to catching up later as on our way to a family party. 🙋♀️🇬🇧🌹👏
🇬🇷 Drinking Earl Grey on a blisteringly hot day in Northern Greece. A sprinkling of Arthur and a dash of Shauna add perfection to my day♡ SIP☆☆ Thank you both so much for your many insights and spreading lots of L♡VE❤
I love Arthur's stories what a lovely man, he speaks with such love and respect of the royal family. He must have many very personal memories that he keeps to himself.
Wonderful interview, Shauna. Letting this amazing gentleman speak without interrupting only to ask an interesting question. You are a natural interviewer. Thank you for a great experience. Cheers and sip from Canada 🇨🇦
This discussion was just brilliant and so lovely to get to hear Mr. Edwards talk about his life as a photographer for the BRF !!!!!! BRAVA........Just lovely
Lovely man and so pleased you let him talk and tell his stories, most interviewers interrupt all the time! No wonder the RF like him and they all call him Arthur, that says a lot.. well done Shauna.
Shauna, you are a world class interviewer who interviewed a world class gentleman. I felt as though I was sitting with the two of you, it was that comfortable. I am so happy I found your channel, and I am so happy to learn about the man behind the camera. Thank you. Excellent!
Arthur Edwards is kind, gentle, and humble. I believe he has a platinum pass as the Royal press photographer. I have been a student Anglophile since I was 10 years old. I am fascinated with England’s history. I suppose one could say I grew up with Arthur. Most of the photos from my old scrapbook were taken by him, and anytime I see photos of the Royal Family published, I always look to see if he was the photographer. Thank you Shauna for a delightful session with Arthur. It was most enjoyable.
I loved your conversation with Arthur. He's a real gentleman with a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding the royal family. His anecdotes were genuinely warm and 'real'. Your respect for him is evident. You were captivated by his openness and professionalism. It was lovely to see. He's one of the best royal photographers 🥇
Arthur Edwards is a lovely lovely man. He spent a lot of time with the royals. Prince Philip was dressed as a grenadier guard - he was well into his 80s - as the late Queen walk past him and I don’t know what he said to her but she giggled like a teenager. I can have a good guess what he said. lol
What a fabulous show. Arthur Edwards is such a wonderful man. He’s our National Treasure . I rember our late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh had a great relationship with Arthur . He covered all our royals and got to know them. He’s traveled the world with them. Such a warm, caring , kind and interesting man 👍
Shauna, thank you for bringing this gentleman to us! He’s fabulous and you did a great job in letting us get to know him. I just loved hearing him, his stories, and have so much respect for him. You are so professional and great at this interviewing process! I feel so privileged to have found you and your channel. Thank you and Mr. Edwards.
Absolutely wonderful…….always a pleasure to hear Arthur speak about his experiences and you are such a good interviewer Shauna ….you let your guests speak and you ask the right questions ……! Thank you I enjoyed every second …. ! X
Thoroughly enjoyed the interview with the wonderful Mr. Edwards! His work is fantastic! Shauna - I admired you're thoughtful and respectful questions. I think Mr. Edwards truly enjoyed his time with you, too 😊
This interview with Arthur Edwards is my most favourite ❤️ I love the stories that go with his photos and just had to buy his book as a momento of his work. Thank you Shauna for a great interview 🥰
He is such a lovely man. What a life he has led and all of the people he must have met. Thank you Shauna and especially thank you Mr. Edwards for this look at Royal Family life from your point of view. What a treat!
Oh Shauna what a joy to listen to Arthur's stories. You could just sit for hours listening to him. He has such a great affection for the Royal Family it is no wonder they are warm to him.
It’s been a while since I’ve commented but I’ve still been watching your vids. I am so excited that you’re interviewing Arthur Edwards!!! You’re really getting some great guests. Keep up the fun and great work. ❤
Special evening tonight, what a treat Shauna for you and us to hear great yarns from this wonderful humble icon. You'll remember this moment, and I bet in your memory-box, will be a back-up keepsake of interview. Xx ❤
How interesting his story is. I love hearing accounts like Mr Edwards' who is a respectable man, a good man. It must be so sad for those who knew harry before meghan. What a shock to discover someone you thought you knew and liked turns out to be someone you didn't really know. What stories the royal photographers have, an angle I never thought about. Thank you!
People line up at the Taj Mahal to have their photo on Dianas seat! The day I went I was the first one there and everyone had to line up waiting for me to have my photos taken! Great interview, thank you. It is nice to hear the man behind the camera.
