Took me 3 years of trying every class and tagging stuff left and right to finally decide to go back to awake ranger and all the knowledge about other classes comes in very handy in pvp
Bro I leveled my ninja because awak felt really fun, deleted and made another class that I thought was going to be my main. Regretting it hard and going back to ninja now lmao
sry but nearly no of your points are relevant to me^^ for me important is: - how stylish and fun are the combat animations - how cool does the class look (gear/cosmetics) - what weapons are used
Maybe it's controversial what I'm going to write, but I have always chosen the most difficult and worst classes or vehicles to play in computer games :) I don't like taking the easy way, I like challenges, it allows me to test my skills much more. When something comes easily and without effort, you get bored very quickly. It's different when we put a lot of work and heart into our character, it allows for greater immersion and more fun from the entire game.
the 'shift+somthing) skills heavy classes do actually matter a lot in the long run i try to say away from those as they start to hurt my fingers so fast
As someone that has had a main for 13,000 hours I regret telling people to pick what they enjoy because it makes the game miserable in the long run when you aren't nearly efficient as certain classes. Like you don't want a class you've mastered but can't PvP with because of poor balance or vice versa in PvE. Its truly a bad feeling. Always pick the OP classes
I agree but it's best if you can find a class that is top tier AND you enjoy. For example Woosa is top tier but I have 0 desire to play her, however I like Berserker a lot and he might not be as good but still pretty damn good and fun, so it's a class that is competitive in PvE AND I enjoy playing it
Agreed. I got burned by the so commonly parroted "pick whatever you find cool" advice. It might be an ok advice if you happen to like a class that is at least mid tier or above and you are fine with that. In my case, I chose a class that was (and probably still is) a bottom tier grinder at most spots, and slowly but surely started to dislike it. I kept second guessing myself every time I calculated my silver/hour. Even bought the p2w tent and it was just sitting the storage, because after hundreds of hours I sill couldn't commit to the class. If you are consistently pulling 20-30% less trash/hour it will add up in the long run and sours the experience. My advice is take each class you like to a spin in the trial are/tag them if you can, and do some research on it's viability. You don't want be stuck with a below average character like I did. Just my 2 cents.
I agree with your advice for most. I have mained a ranger since Mediah was released. I just love her fluidity even though her grind is mid at best. That being said, you're 100% correct. I think most don't realize the buy-in. Unless you're absolutely enamored, I agree. Which only applies to maybe 3% of people maining an inefficient class. I recently tagged guardian, and am blown away by how much money I make. About a 15% difference depending on mob.
The "pick whatever you like" advice, is just safe advice for the sake of being safe from critique but it's unhelpful to a new player. The "if you enjoy it you'll enjoy the game." People like winning and feeling strong - that's why they click on videos suggesting a main. Getting dunked on your whole gaming experience isn't fun, no matter what subjective playstyle premises are involved. New players aren't auditing this advice, they're looking toward it. A first time player that has only done character customization will only know what characters they like to look at. More direct advice would be "Play Woosa (or whatever) then tag whatever you feel you'll enjoy after hundreds of hours of grinding." As someone that basically lives in character customization, hearing things like "Pick whatever you'll enjoy because you'll be grinding for hundreds of hours." Sick advice, but I dont know what Ill enjoy playing to even put in hundreds of hours grinding, unsure how thirsty of gankers people are over grind spots when I level up. If I'm gonna have to grind for hundreds of hours I might as well pick a grinder that is also a dueler bc I'm unsure if I'll get to even play the game if I'm not giving my new self every advantage I can in that environment.
to be honest this vid feels like an introduction to a second video. no offense but i wanted to ask if this guide is for experienced players or complete newbies. if it is for complete beginners.... well i would like to point out that people who never played the game and want to start playing with a class which seemingly suits them lack the knowledge to decide on abstacts. i am saying this as someone who has 0 hours in the game. but yeah maybe people like me are not the intended audience. but on a good note, i loved the way this was presented!
Ah valid points. Probably best for people who are already acclimated to the game. For a fresh player starting from scratch I would recommend Anders’ Class Guide where he gives a detailed overview of each classes capabilities
I played few years ago and Pick Berserker - the berserker was unkillable, there was a spell where you just Bring you to life or give you full HP..that was op if you ask me.
How to choose a main: pick berserker. If you dont know what buttons do, zerker. If you know what all buttons do, zerker. If PA buffs any class, still zerker. And if you hate zerker, well thats to bad, pick zerker.😂
This is why after making my first character and having to timepiece something and start off as my main for now and literally having no clue what I want to do other than just play the game I made a berserker. lmao
I,m new to PC gaming as of Two Months (Transfered to master race from console) I am not good with a key-broad and opt for a low APM char so went with Valk tag Awk guardian yes cheese but with BDO im not racing anyone to get Max GS and playing at my pace, I mix between Life and grinding so i have alot of chars
my frist class is lhan, then change to drakania>Woosa>DK and i love dk so much both in pvp or pve,and now i still try the other class for my sub class, maybe next season i'll try big mom guardian
The Lahn class is a martial artist who comes from Eastern Valencia. She uses a Crescent Pendulum as their primary weapon and a Noble Sword as her secondary weapon. At level 56, the Lahn unlocks their awakening weapon which is the Crimson Glaives, duel wield blades attatched with a chain. The Lahn class uses melee to mid range to slash at their enemies and quickly burst them down. She is a high damaging duelist with lots of protection skills, mobility and CC, as well as a long range grab in Awakening. Lahn excells in 1v1 situations but when in mass PVP it is much harder to stay protected and do high damage at the same time. Lahn is one of the squisher classes in the game and during large fights, should look for smaller skirmishes, attack backlines, and pick off targets who are out of place. Lahn is also especially good in cannon teams or as a flex member. In PVE, Lahn is a fast grinder and can perform well in the mid-tier spots. @@misantrope6267
i wish they added one more tag slot. i want to tag one pve meta class ( succ woosa ), one large scale pvp meta class ( witch ), and main the most fun one ( woke sage )
Ngl, for me it's Shai -> Tamer -> Dark Knight. Shai is relatively low level and sticks to life skilling, Dark Knight is just always out fighting amd Tamer acts as kinda my property manager/accountant/merchant (all while staying on her mount) There ya go, everyones got a role to play lol
"The best thing in BDO is his combat system" When i remind myself back in the day the Tera Online combat system now I’m leaning more towards for a "the WORST thing in BDO is his combat system" And don't get me wrong, i'm a Ninja fast cancel dex player, and i dont have any trouble kill my targets dodge, cancel, cc fishing, or get neutral, but i realy think the combat system would be waaay improved just by letting people choose their own bind, the way it was on Tera Online, may you rest in peace.
Buddies are twisting my arm to come back. It's been a year or so and my account had been deleted. Mained Wizard back then. Succession was just becoming a thing so hell its been more than a year or so xD. Not sure which to play. Thought Witch, but I mained Wizard and Warrior alt. Leaning towards Valk, Ninja, or even Zerk. People keep mentioning how good it is, but is rather overdue for a hard nerfbatting. I like to enjoy all aspects of the game or atleast try to. Never gotten into pvp much. Never had the gear to combat anyone and got bullied everywhere xD Any thoughts?
I wouldn't really worry about nerfs. BDO has generally been very stingy with nerfs. If they do it's minor, they lean more to buffing everything else. I would pick a class based on the role you want to play in PVP and you feel comfortable grinding hours in PVE. Most classes are decent at grinding nowdays, its not as much of a disparity as it used to be 2-3 yrs ago.
@@imPansy me too I love playing different classes at certain times. Playing the same class all the time is boring. But because of gears I am limited in my options at end game grind spot.
Wish there were less acronyms used half the stuff mentioned I have no clue what you're saying. Guide is probably good for veteran players but not for someone who wants to get into the game.
Yeah definitely. As a beginner it’s recommended you go through the seasonal server and pick any class that visually appeals to you. This game has a steep learning curve for sure
i choise my Lahn by lazy gamestyle but fun for me (im too old for high rpm and complicated gamestyle), similarities to old fasion god of war + flying / gliding ... ok ok most important her beauty play role too.. u can make her looks realy amazing haha, then just TAG others now and then if i want to get break and want to have some fun for a while with endgame gear ps. i stop play by meta beocuse its not fun most of time, yes other clases will be better but if i dont have fun why i should play them
if the game had not all those shitty mmo mechanics it would be a masterpiece. i hate the gear progression and upgrading, i hate the unneassary trash loot, i hate the ui filled with immersion breaking stuff, i hate that enemies dont realy stagger/flinch to your moves like in darksouls, i hate that all good looking gear and stuff is behind a expensiv paywall, i hate all the unneassary resources. and still the classes are such a blast that i always come back xD
This is a masterpiece!! Couldn't disagree with you any further more!! Well-explained for pointing out what's the real cause of people these days should be asking themselves what they want to do in BDO in general.
im looking for a class with this criteria 1. have a low apm and high apm at the same time (like maybe awakening high apm and succ low apm) 2. decent in any type of PVP (1v1, 1vX, or node) so far the only class that check this criteria is berserker, but i might miss other class as well, does anyone know the rest ?
I feel like there is something special about Nova, due to her bifurcation of playstyles between Succession and Awakening. For places where you just need a bit of pack-to-pack movement but are generally going through your full rotation, Nova's Succession will give you a really chill and super-safe grind with her massive AoEs and complete overload of Frontal Guard skills. She has a low APM thanks to extended attack animations as well. For places where mobility is the most important, Awakening Nova speeds around like a hyperactive toddler on crack, dropping single-damage attacks with huge AoEs from moderate distances and covering massive distances with mobility skills that are fast and on extremely short cooldowns. She doesn't have much in the way of protection (just Super Armor, for the most part), but if you are one-shotting or two-shotting enemies before zooming away, she's perfect. There's also the feeling of cranking the already high-octane gameplay straight to 11 when she enters Accel mode. The best part is that both specs are excellent at duels if you know how to play them, and Awakening can even sometimes ignore gankers by just zooming away from them as nothing can really keep up with her effectively. She has been my main since she was released, and I typically tag her to my very first character and another class I really adore: my Witch.
Shai can't dfs and is bad on capped node wars. And on uncapped she need to waste money on another gear (dp set). DP gear may be cheaper but it's still a waste. I like pve on her but being cute is not enought.
