Let’s see how to make this oil.
1. Take one small or medium sized fresh Ridge Gourd. You can find fresh ridge gourd it in the Indian or Asian stores. Dab it with dry cloth or paper towel, to remove dirt and moisture.
2. Now we have to cut it into small pieces. You might need 2 cups of pieces or more based on usage. I have got 2 cups of pieces.
3. Now, put them on a ceramic or steel plate and let it dry. Don’t dry them outside, directly under the sun. That may cause loss of nutrients. It’s better to dry it near shade or close to window. I have kept it in the home but beside a glass door so that I get enough sunlight for it to dry.

6. After 3 days, the pieces are dried out.
7. Take these pieces into a glass jar and add coconut oil to soak these pieces.
8. You should soak with coconut oil for 2 days at least.
9. After 2 days of soaking, the dried ridge gourd pieces look like this. Take these contents into a steel bowl slowly.
10. Boil it on low flame or medium flame. Stir the contents occasionally.
11. Notice that the oil starts turning brown and the ridge gourd pieces start turning dark brown or black.
12. After around 15 minutes, you will notice that the ridge gourd pieces have become black in color and the oil starts giving away lot of smoke.
13. Keep boiling under low flame for another 5 minutes.
14. So, after a total time of 20 minutes of boiling, turn off the flame and let the oil cool down completely. You can see that the ridge gourd pieces have gone fully dark and the oil also turned dark.
15. Strain the oil and store in clean glass bottle. Place it in a dark room away from sunlight.
Massage your scalp with this oil at least twice a week. It gives you little dye like effect, but using it regularly helps to restore the Melanin pigment in follicles.
This is one of the most effective as well as time tested natural remedies for grey hair.
Ridge Gourd contains catalase enzyme that breaks down H202 peroxide, which is the main reason for grey hair. Also, it has enzymes that can restore Melanin pigment in the hair follicles, give the hair its natural color.
This oil treats grey hair from roots. But preparing a ridge Gourd oil is a long process that requires time and patience. The whole process takes around 5 days. But it’s worth trying out.
