"The Untamed" is based on the novel "Mo Dao Zu Shi" by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, featuring xianxia elements. The novel revolves around the background of the five major sects. The disciple of the Yunmeng-Jiang, Wei Wuxian, pairs up with GusuLan's Hanguang-jun, Lan Wangji, to explore the truth about the past.

LOL yibo is right though, wei wuxian is really a complicated character; half of the reason why i was so impressed by the untamed is because of xiao zhan's acting!

True! He’s literally like 3 different people. His teenage years, life after being thrown off Burial Mounds (demonic cultivation days), then after being reborn! Definitely complicated!

Wang HaoXuan has said in an interview that WWX would be too tiring to switch to from Xue Yang.. I assumed he meant the same thing that Wang Yibo says; it's fun to see confirmation with that glimpse of the script page.

wangji have more fight scene, which is no easy either. you may need to filming half day for only one action scene and only have 2 second show in the drama. he doesn't have many line but it didn't mean he don't need to hard work.

Yeah, srsly. Yibo talks about the difficulties of conveying everything with his eyes and not having enough lines, but I can't even imagine how much work it would have taken to memorize all Zhan's lines. Especially some episodes. They both had their difficulties and did such a great job.

I love the part where Yibo was praised he couldn’t switch the role with Weiyin since he did a such gorgeous moves and won all the team’s heart, he felt shy and hid behind his sleeves, that was so cute.

When cast get along behind the scenes, you can really tell as it shows on camera and makes a series even more enjoyable. I love watching these clips even though I finished the series a few weeks ago. I do agree that Wei Ying is a complicated character with a hard life. Xiao Zhan did an amazing job portraying that and Yibo made the world fall in love with Lan Zhan. Honestly, still cannot get over this drama. Am watching it again and have binge watched this still the second time around. I only have 4 episodes left.
