Can someone explain me why people ship those two, even though they have few interactions in the danghua/manhua/audio drama/novel and Xichen was clearly interested in Meng Yao? I haven't see the live-action. May it contain ship tease?

@@alexandraguardian9840 Honestly it is a bit complicated to explain. At the end of the day I ship both Lan Xichen and Meng Yao, as well as Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng. Within the drama their are some subtle hints towards a possible relationship, but it is nowhere near as obvious as XiYao. I also wouldn't say that they had few interactions with each other, as in my opinion they would have spent a decent amount of time together, especially when Wei Ying was missing for those 3 months. However the main reason people ship the two is to give them a happy ending. Which I completely understand and it is one of the reasons I also ship them together. I don't know how true this may be but I do remember at one point reading that MXTX had thought about making XiCheng a post canon ship. Of course as far as I remember within MXTX's novel the only story that has a Post Canon ship comes from SVSSS which has the MoShang ship. I don't know if TGFC has any post canon ships since I haven't been able to find the extras anywhere.

Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen? Many people ship them but I really don't see it.

@@StarlitFaerie tgcf doesn't, not thus far at least. there's a lot more ship tease (namely w fengqing, quanyin, beefleaf kinda) but none are canon yet afaik. though the audio drama is gonna add content soooo 🙏
