The description of this flower is as follows: As hozuki is written '鬼灯' (ogre's light) in kanji characters, it is offered on the Shoryodana (shelf placed ancestral tablet and altarage in the Obon festival) as a symbol of lights leading ancestors' souls (one of the meaning of '鬼' [ogre]) safely back to their home.
@@yamashita_life Yamashita the hozuki plant is native to South Asia, Northeast Asia and Southern Europe, according to Wikipedia. That explains why I've never seen it .
We had our sweet boy Milo, a Maltese, for 17 years. On Monday 7/15/24 we had to say our final goodbye to him and our hearts are broken. I came across your channel and although my eyes are so blurry from crying I have watched your videos nightly because they are so beautifully filmed and peaceful. I love your home and watching you and Kome. Thank you for this beautiful reprieve from my sadness.
