Wen Ning's story was probably one of the most heartbreaking. He was so innocent in everything but got dragged into it all by others, and was hated by everyone. He lost everything not due tl his own choices but the choices of others. Yet he remained loyal and sacrificed so much for others. Protect Wen Ning at all costs.

Wen Ning is the epitome of LOYALTY. Even when his consciousness was taken he still goes to WeiYing. He went through so much despite being so young. Thankfully in the novel it ended quite well for his character.

One thing I love about Untamed is that it portrays love in so many different ways. Wen Ning was one of the purest and most good hearted characters from this show, and he lost everything while also being hated by everyone. This song really captures the innocence of a character who has been through so many hardships but stayed loyal to himself and never failed to see good in others. I love his relationship and undying loyalty to Wei Wuxian, but also loved that they showed his identity as an individual being and not just WWX’s “mascot”. Anyways this MV made me very emotional if u couldn’t tell 😂 I just love my babies and don’t want them to suffer anymore 😞💔

Whenever I see Wen ning, I just want to hug him, and tell all the beautiful words in this world. He is such a innocent child, dragged in to harsh reality, and left alone with nothing but pain. i loved a lot of caracters along with the drama... but the first time i see wen Ning i fell in love... this song's title is 赤子，which means newborn child. This song is fits with wen ning's character so well because the lyrics are about keeping one's heart pure like a child's, even when the body is riddled by scars. Even though wen ning has gone through so much, he is still one of the purest people alive.

I bawled here. I thought Wei Neng suffered so much but they didn’t really touch on his character too much in the drama. But watching this and reading the lyrics made me realize how much he lost... And even though he did, he’s willing to protect Wei Ying till the end because Wei Ying saved him and gave him a second chance. It’s so beautiful I can’t stop bawling my eyes out!! My BF’s giving me weird looks guys I can’t stop the tears! The part that really shakes me is the chorus and him still having a child-like heart and wanting to protect his loved one(s) forever even though he’s covered in scars. Ugh!!!!

The line "I will use the rest of my wretched life to protect you," is original meant for Wen Ning but it is so special because it fits both of them, they will try to protect eachother.

That is such a great insight on that lyric! You're right. Wei Wuxian's life became miserable when he chose to defend the Wen clan remnants, but he wouldn't budge in his protection of them, no matter how much pain he was in from missing his former life and family. Both Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning are such truly good-hearted characters! 💖💖💖

Okay wen ning is adorable and all but i don't think we give him enough credits. He stuck by wwx and defended him even when it dangerous. He didn't let the fucked up world he lived in destroy his kindness and love for others. He didn' t become any less loyal when it got hard
