Even though Empress Janera is more powerful, Garuda for me is the stand out main villain of Combattler V, he's so ruthless and a homicidal maniac capable of destroying anything on his path. No wonder why he became the inspiration for creating Prince Heinel of Voltes V.
Even though it's for some slot machine, it practically has pilot presentation written all over it. The Robot Romance Trilogy is a 70s gem that is seriously crying out for an epic high budget remake. It's certainly far more deserving of one than the likes of Voltron.
The remake is kind of impossible especially ever since the Mobile Suit Gundam Series franchise has debut but I think there's a small chance that this series will have a remake

there was an episode in the old version that they didnt allow them to combine that easily until they figured out to make a barrier for their combining safety
I see this as the "Bullet Hell" or "Curtain Fire" version if Pinball though it's also like the reverse of the game. In Pinball you keep one ball in the field as long as possible to score points. In Pachinko you flood the field with as many balls as you can to score points before they drain and you have no way to keep them in the field...

They are made by the same author, and from what I've learnt they're like two versions of the same story. Also, Combattler V is somewhat humorous, while Voltes V is much more dramatic.
