特急ロマンスカーの新たなフラッグシップモデルとして、2編成20両に35億円を投じ、2005年に登場した小田急50000形。しかし、車体傾斜制御等の特殊構造から補修・更新が困難となり、デビューからわずか17年後の2022年3月11日に定期運行を終了し、2023年秋には完全引退が予定されています。今回、ChopperTrain109さんが主催するVSE貸切ツアーに参加させていただきました。短命となった悲運のロマンスカーの雄姿を、この動画にて紹介してまいります。
The Odakyu 50000 series was launched in 2005 as a new flagship model of the Limited Express Romancecar, with 20 cars in 2 trains at a cost of 3.5 billion yen. The “vault” ceiling is the origin of the train's nickname, VSE, Vault Super Express. However, it was difficult to repair and update due to the special structure such as the body tilt control. Then, its regular operation ended on March 11th, 2022, just 17 years after its debut, and it is scheduled to be completely retired in the autumn of 2023. This time, I had the opportunity to participate in a VSE charter tour sponsored by Chopper Train 109. In this video, I would like to introduce the majestic figure of the short-lived tragic Romancecar VSE.
