特急「ひだ」に1989年2月18日に投入されて以来、JR高山本線の顔として使用され続けたキハ85系気動車。いよいよ2023年3月18日には後継の"ハイブリット気動車"であるHC85系に全定期列車が置き換えられることが決まりました。定期列車として最後の冬、山間の路線を懸命に走る気動車特急の世代交代の風景を撮影してきました。
Kiha 85 series diesel car has been used as the face of the JR Takayama Main Line since it was introduced on the limited express train HIDA on February 18, 1989. Finally, on March 18, 2023, it has been decided that all regular trains will be replaced by the HC85 series, the successor "hybrid diesel train", the train having electric engines, with power supplied by an onboard diesel generator.
