thank you! I also think your style is very cool. I love the snow in Hokkaido, Japan. But It would be nice to do telemark skiing in Norway!

@@chillwalk. Thanks for the kind words! I started Telemark skiing in 2021 but I am very interested in learning so I watch a lot of RU-vid videos and ski a lot in the winter to get better. I think many of you who are from Japan and ski Telemark often have nice skiing technique and style, so it's great to see. Japanese athletes in ski jumping are also often the ones who get top scores for technique from the judges, so there must be something in your soul with good technique 😃 I looked up Hokkaido and see it's on an island in the north, is the snow light and dry or is it more moist and supportive? I see that there are several skiers from Europe and the US who travel to Japan because of the snow, so it must be special 😊 If you ever go to Norway to ski, there are many possibilities, but the best is perhaps free skiing in Lyngen (north) or on the west coast . If you are going to ski in a ski resort, I would perhaps recommend one of these; Narvikfjellet, Strandafjellet, Hemsedal, Voss ski resort, Myrkdalen, Trysil, Oppdal, Hafjell (olympic 1994), Kvitfjell (olympic 1994), Norefjell (olympic 1952) or Telemark's (region in Norway) best ski resort which is Gausta ski center. Possible vertical 1650m if it is enough snow all the way down to Rjukan (town next to Gaustatoppen) Norway skicenters cannot compare to the massive and large ski centers a little further south in Europe, in the Alps between Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy, but you probably already knew that ☺

@@Scarprotte Telemark skiing in Norway is an incredible experience for telemark skiers. Because Norway is the special birthplace of telemark skiing. By the way, Hokkaido is at about the same longitude as Canada, so the quality of the snow is perfect, not too hard, not too soft, and low humidity. Recently, the yen has been weak internationally, so I think Japan is a good deal for tourists from overseas, but domestically there is complete stagflation. Due to cost-push inflation, the cost of daily living has become quite high, and it is difficult to travel overseas because it requires a considerable amount of money. I've heard that prices are very high in Norway as well.

@@chillwalk. Yes, it's Sondre Norheim who started recreational skiing in the 1840s. Sondre was the first to use skis for play and fun. Before, skis were used for transport/movement/hunting on snow. Sondre also invented several features of the skis that we use today, for example cuved skis and that he reinforced the binding with a heel strap to make them more stable. I live a couple of hours away from Morgedal in Telemark county, which is the home of Sondre. Sounds like Hokkaido has dream snow. There are probably many factors that play a role in how the snow turns out, so Hokkaido is probably lucky with its location both in terms of longitude/latitude and location to the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan. Looking at the map, Hokkaido is a little further south but almost in line with the European Alps. There are slightly abnormal times now, but eventually both the currency and inflation will probably return to normal. We have had some inflation in Norway as well, much due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has pushed the price of electricity in Europe up 10x last year. Norway also has a small currency which often weakens against the USD and EUR when there are uncertain times, so we import inflation when we import goods. Good for the salmon farmers who sell salmon in NOK, for example to Japan :) Thanks to Japan for the invention of sushi which is very good. And good cars (Honda etc), electrical equipment and much much more!

@@chillwalk. Isn't Miyazaki a Japanese place? Here is a Norwegian artist song about it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0XuaVG6kF6U.htmlsi=JwCjOsyJtNc0g9Bk
