“Now, let’s start tailoring” A young woman, the owner of the tailor shop in a far corner of Enbizaka Much beloved for her good-nature and her reliable skill, a popular girl in her neighborhood she was But she has a problem.. You see, the one she loves is cheating on her “Even with someone like me, he never returns home…” But I must continue my work, with my scissors in hand My mother’s old keepsake, sewing scissors, they cut better the more they’re sharpened Just as usual, it’s a calm and peaceful day in town I found him on the main street, but who is the woman beside him? She looks lovely in her red kimono, he’s on good terms with this lovely woman I can’t stand walking near that sight, I shall take my leave immediately But I must continue my work, with my scissors in hand My cheeks stained with tears as I’m hard at work on restitching this kimono There’s something unsettling about the town today, perchance, there was an incident? I found him on the bridge, but who is the woman next to him? A woman with gorgeous hair, snuggling up to her, he looks a bit sad The green obi suits her very well… Ahh, perhaps he prepares girls like that? But I must continue my work, with my scissors in hand While clearing my red eyes, I work hard at repairing an obi The town is suddenly abuzz with noise, another incident, perhaps? I see him at the hairpin shop, who is this woman next to him? He’s buying a pretty yellow hairpin for a young girl What on earth are you doing? You’re really indiscriminate But I must continue my work, with my scissors in hand Were the scissors always this color? I’ll do my best at work today as well My work is finally all finished Come to see me, and if you won’t I suppose I’ll have to go to see you Red kimono, green obi Yellow hairpin, put all of it on I’ve become the kind of woman you like What do you think? Am I beautiful? There’s an uproar in town today, it seems a man was killed today A family of four was killed by someone Either way, he was such a cruel man, never bothered to say “Nice to meet you, hello” It’s not like I’m a stranger, wasn’t that a bit strange? But I must continue my work, with my scissors in hand Red dyed sewing scissors, they cut better the more they’re sharpened
"the scissors my mother gave to me" really REALLY hits different after finding out Kayo's mother was the demon of envy, and those scissors were the vessel that possessed her during this whole. ordeal. i feel like she was just set up for failure in that regard
Note: Kayo was never possesed during her story , thats a major twist in the novel . Her sin was all hereditary because her mother was the demon of envy herself in the body of a woman who during the events of the story has her soul inside the scissors instead the of the demon. Meanwhile Demon of Envy gets freed and becomes a mermaid.
What i found so enticing from this song is that it told from kayo's perspective. Through the whole song she gave the impression of those cute shy innocent girl who secretly work hard to make their crush notice them (the song potray her dress making as if she is a high school baking cake/making bento for the first time). That "imma give my best" line in every part is what give this strong impression
You know, even though I noticed that this PV uses do many different looking art styles, it just now occurred to me that Mothy straight up organized a MAP if these are legit all different artists.
They say Envy is green, but Envy can also be pink. Also there are BOOKS and PLAYS of this series, I truely love how mothy akuno can expand the series to such a entwined story not even I know the entirety of.
It's different overall (am I weird if I say I'm too familiar with the original) . I agree it's cleaner and maybe it's just me but this particular tuning just suits her better than with other Vocaloids. I also can't help noticing that this particular tuning makes her sound like traditional Japanese singing. :3
In addition, the vocals are definitely enka, but I noticed that she uses less vibrato than the scap version at some points, so I'm led to believe that it's a new tuning
