The wonderful thing is that Philippe and his paramour the Chevalier de Lorraine DID love each other when they were no longer young and beautiful. They were together until they died in their 60's at the turn of the century (1700). That is just one more element of this show that floors me. Not only did the historical characters the actors play love each other intensely but the actors love each other too :). 6 years later. Nothing compares to Monchevy.
Im trying to find someone that has watched the entire show before i start bc im sick of seeing gay couples ending badly, do monchevy end up together and happy ? (Cuz they did irl kinda sooo)
“Had my cake now” One of my favorite things about this show is seeing all the opulence and knowing what carnage lies ahead for all the nobles grandchildren
I absolutely loved this show. George and Alexander were utterly fantastic. I was so sad when it ended. Everything about Versailles is stunning. The cast, the set, the actors. Magnificent. J'adore.
Em Portugal está no fim da 1 serie,estou apaixonada desde o 1 episodio e a gravar..Arrepia-me a música,os actores são perfeitos,a historia está bem retratada,só quero mais....
Throughout everything, I adored the strong brotherhood between Philippe and Louis. Even though sometimes it felt like their worlds were crashing down and they didn't fully agree with each other's actions at times, they never abandoned each other.
Thank you for this video. You picked the perfect song for the two of them and your editing is breathtakingly beautiful. I'm looking forward to season 2 and can't wait what you will do with it.
It wasn't cancelled. They did the number of series they'd planned to do. Life at Versailles wasn't so interesting after they got older. Philip lived away from Louis and didn't see him much. Louis was in a wheelchair being pushed around by his 'wife' Madame De Maintenon. He had the same routine every day. There were still court intrigues but not so much involving these two.
...yet then, when all the men are gone, after all the women who came and went, they have each other. Louis has no one to trust. And no one accepts Philippe wholly and for who he truly is. I'm not surprised if in one episode they are to make a 'go' at each other. I'll raise glass of champagne in front of my computer monitor once they do.
