1G-FE in Altezza AS200 basemodel had no traction control and had normal mechanical throttle with a stepper motor for idle. Didnt see anyone go through with that tho, but it seems like the best option.
Whats the wiring for it do ?? Intrested cos my jzs161 is throwing code p1129 (flashing cel 89) for throttle motor and ive tried everything . And wondering if this will solve my problem
Hi, can you write me a description in english? Maybe just a Link or something to understand how this think works exactly... I'm trying to do this to my MY02 Altezza with the Supercharged 1G-FE Engine (VVTI aswell) Many thanks macshen
I have this installed. It basicly lets the ecu control the idle duties other than that full control is given to driver. Without throwing codes as the kit allows the standard system to operate without actually controlling the throttle plate because the kits new gears cancel out this part. So basicly when the ecu sends open command it opens but due to this kit it doesn't have any effect on throttle plate. Clever system for sure.
No, it does not give you full control. Basically, you get "full" control over opening of the throttle (ECU/ motor could still override and open it more if it "wanted to") but closing of throttle is completely controlled by ECU / throttle motor which is luckily relatively fast. In reality it's a bit messy and butterfly gets slightly "bumped" by the motor when it catches up (you can test it out). TPS still relies on the motor which is trying to keep up with your APS demand so even if you open throttle quickly it still needs TPS input which is driven by the motor and that takes time. In other words, response is improved but nothing too special. Also, throttle opens with cable about 85% and then STILL uses motor to open that last 15% (JZX110). I hate to be "that" guy but... 400$ for couple of milled plates and 2 wires is a bit crazy in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's a smartly designed product (you are mostly paying for R&D anyway) and it's not like much can be done anyway without at least tripping CEL and ECU issues but I just think it's not worth it considering end result. People think this is full cable conversion or cure for faulty DBW unit but that's simply not the case because you need 100% functional throttle (APS, TPS, throttle motor) for it to work properly as it relies 100% on factory sensors and motor. Converting to JZX100 throttle would be way to go and could probably be pulled of for similar money.
@@code111japan Altezza AS200 had fully mechanical throttle in versions without traction control, so for people who want fully mechanical throttle in IS200 it's a way to go i think, but that also needs ecu, aside of throttle body itself. For AS300/IS300(2JZ) and RS200(3S-GE) it's probably only way aside of going fully ITB, or trying to marry older design like you said. Tho in case of 3S-GE in Altezza, no such exists for longitunual version, only MR2 and Celica ones are available and i am not sure if it would work. Toyota is kind of notorious for messing with minor shit in designs and changing things you wont even be able to deduce from specification or dimensions. Even stuff like wheel hubs, i got to learn that the hard way when i had my Celica and tried to buy other 3S car hubs that seemingly had same dimensions but one thing that is never given as a dimension was different and it was grinding against brake calipers. Shit like this makes me hate toyota sometimes...
