{Imagine} 10 years have passed since the release of the untamed. We all grew older and gotten busy with our own live. A day came when you were on the street, walking , you heard the melody of wuji. Suddenly you felt the same warm feeling you felt when you watched the untamed, 10 years ago. You felt overwhelmed. Okay ,okay ,let's not forget this melody in our life . Let's cherish this feeling and not let it disappear. :)
We’ll never forget it in all our life! MXTX’s works are just too memorable which makes the music in it memorable too! I imagined what you said and omg, the nostalgia! I would be like ‘Ah, still many people fall in love with this, it’s been so long! I’m quite lucky to have known wangxian! Thank you, dear Lord for keeping me alive! Those who haven’t fallen are missing out!’ ❤️
It is the first song that makes me so nostalgic so peaceful , so hurt , so calm, so disturbed , so emotional at the same time , I really can't help but just weep and weep...remembering about the first time Wei Wuxian barged into the cloud recesses holding the emperor's wine......the time Wei Wuxian was sent out of the classes, The times when he was scolded ...and then the time when he simply just gave up and jumped off the cliff......the time when Lan Wangji went against his own clan to support Wei the times he suffered for Wei without letting him know...the time when i saw the whip scars on his back the time when they finally met again .....it was really an unforgettable journey .....Starting from "Lan Zhan "to " Wei Ying".....
I didn't read the full title, just saw "Guqin" and "Chinese flute" and pressed play.... I just wanted some nice music I could listen to while studying but here I am... caught off guard and in tears... Bloody hell WangXian...
Anson Tomo WangXian is the ship name for the main couple in the Chinese drama this song comes from - “The Untamed” ! This song is their main theme :) If you’re interested, you can watch it from places like Netflix, Viki.com and WeTV.
Ravi V I play both the flute and the dizi, and for me and the ones around me it takes a lot of breath training my lung power. Maybe you can’t feel it, but it does take a lot of air.
I’m playing the dizi as well( Chinese bamboo flute ) with a lower tone which means the flute is longer and bigger( C key ). It indeed does need a lot of air and it is difficult for a beginner like me to master that Dizi flute. But practice makes perfect and after a few days I kinda could master it without much breathing problems. I guess your body gets used to it after a while
my love lost her dad today to corona and i lost my dad six months ago to cancer. Oh life is cruel and like buddha say full of suffering. this music helps and rips my heart out. hope life will be better someday.
This is such a unique cover. Many others either have a pre-recorded pairing or it sounds like they're fighting with each other for the melody throughout the piece. But you can hear the Guqin taking the lead in the beginning while flute hauntingly follows, then the transition to the flute taking the melody... but notes are missing from the flute and are filled in by the Guqin (2:00-2:08), like they're finishing each other's thoughts. Finally they both harmonize at the end. Really makes this performance stand out.
That ONE single TEAR! It had me crying for hours afterwards! Hard to say if that was because I was in middle of exams.. But Lan Zhan had me in tears for sure
I still remember watching The Untamed back in quarantine and how it helped me get through one of the hardest moments in my life. The longing, love and adoration Lan WangJi have for Wei WuXian never fails to amaze me and Wei Wuxian's selflessness, sacrificing his status for the people who's been turned a blind eye at is just something so admirable. The amount of nostalgia in this one piece of song is just so surreal. I will continue to love the love they have for each other^^
Dude. I've never felt music so hard in my life. It came crashing at me like a tidal wave with overwhelming strength. So beautiful, so precious. This is so beautiful. And I remember what this piece means... longing, desire, pain, regret, hope... love. It's so much. Thank you so much for this one of a kind interpretation, really.
Lan Zhan wrote it for Wei Ying and himself, and only sang it to him in the cave because he feared he wouldn't get another chance, so your interpretation is very very accurate
You damn right! This music is derived from the theme song from a famous chinese drama called the Untamed, this is the melody the protagonist created and only sang to his beloved companion. Nobody besides the couple know the tone and how much love for each other this song imbeded. Im surprised you got so close to the actual meaning, if you have never seen this drama!
Angelica Bernal just search for mo dao zu shi novel and you’ll find it! there’s a Portuguese translated version in wattpad, I think there’s one in English too...
Still it is 2021 and we cant get over the untamed, it has been one of the best dramas i have ever seen, wish we all can have a season 2, just pray we can get a season 2 guys cause i know you all are not even moved yet from the untamed and wangxian right,
I just immediately felt what that fluet sounds like at the beginning(till 01:00). He is trying to produce the natural sound of winds whining. And I can't help relating this to a scene where someone is stumbling on the road, struggles forward, and every wind around is blowing desolately, leaves gently falling upon him.
It reminds of that memory Wei Wuxian remembers, the one with the woman, man, and child sitting on a donkey, travelling in a forest. Then at the end, Wuxian and Wangji travels down a forest, with Yuan on a donkey with them.
Not to be that fan, but that reminds me of that one scene in 2HA wherebchu wanning was walking ahead of Moran with his clothes bloodied by his own blood.
This is so much better than every other version I've heard. Now I get why it's a love song, plus it also sounds like a conversation between the two instruments in a way that reflects the characters. I have probably searched too deep for meaning in this but here's what I took from it (while trying to limit spoilers): So, in the first third, the flute is intially ephemeral, almost imagined and the gugin is carrying the song and the emotion, which I guess could reflect Lan Wanji's... if not one-sided, then at least unknown and unrequited-in-practice feelings. So the flute represents the idea of, or longing for, the connection with Wei Wuxian, but at the same time with the idea that this is unatainable or unrealistic, at least in Lan Wanji's mind. Then at 1.07 the gugin seems to ask a question (those notes are singled out and sound very different, like an inquiry), which the flute answers in the affirmative by becoming more present in the song, suggesting a return of the sentiment in some form. Then during the next part of the song there is agreement and commitment and they are mostly in sync but they are more alongside each other, rather than truly entwined. Then there are two more moments that sound like questions and answers between 1.59 and 2.05, before the flute changes to the instrument more in line with the dizi that WWX has in the series and the melody becomes much more lively and clear, with the song becoming more energetic and complex, including riffing off each other almost, perhaps signalling the change to a true, fully acknowledged connection. I think different people might place these stages in different moments of the series, or disagree with this entirely, which is totally fair. But, either way, the performance of this song is amazing, and this is what it made me think about, so thank you.
have you try this version, becasue this video, i nearly paid 4000$ to get a guqin to play this song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wYJGV2BsEBA.html
I agree with your logic! It does come all together when you think about it. How LWJ first fell for WWX, how he stumbled, felt guilty, scared and confused. Oh, insecure he must’ve felt, plus being in Gusu must’ve required him to supress his feelings further (he can’t even bring himself to meet WWX of his own accord). But then he sees WWX again, but as a different person from what he thought of him. This WWX was crushed, enveloped by anger and rejection towards himself and others. He now only has hatred and revenge in his mind. LWJ too would feel helpless and even more confused, unable to help him too. Then after WWX dies, LWJ goes into depression, but still waits for him patiently, because he felt clarity in his mind; he has decided to protect WWX with all his might, he embraces every part of him now, his cheerfulness, innocence and at the same time his hatred and sins. Suddenly, after 13 years, someone plays the song he had heart-wrenchingly wrote with his love only for WWX that no one knows but both of them. How would that feel? He was like, ‘Is that you Wei Ying?’ which signifies the inquiry part of the guqin. Then, WWX answers with his flute, and they start to interact more with each other, facing things together, so the guqin and the flute play side by side. And then WWX’s heart starts to waver too. He, in fact had always admired LWJ too for a long time (not fully love yet I think?). He starts feeling more for LWJ, noticing how he protects him (but still doesn’t get the fact that LWJ loves him too). So the flute alone plays cheerfully, full of love and longing (without the guqin because WWX doesn’t know LWJ’s feelings). And then, LWJ realises WWX has in fact sacrificed himself for JC and had no choice but to pursue demonic cultivation to avenge his parents. Only then did LWJ felt truly connected to WWX. After the bathtub scene, both are in a mess. WWX escapes obviously and LWJ just stays there, dumbfounded. Still, WWX thinks of LWJ at the back of his mind while tracking JGY’s tracks. And then he spouts his confession in front of all (I literally got second-hand embarrassment 😂). Finally the guqin and the flute with a sort of tune that represents that their hearts have truly entwined together, ending because the pain and suffering between them is gone, replaced by love and faith. What a wonderful feeling that must be, to feel your heart in unison with another! This is such a lovely song and MDZS is one of the best love stories I’ve ever read, with good plot and character development. ❤️
Wow. I don't even know anything about The Untamed, but this is beautiful. The music paints its own landscape in front of you... you can hear the sigh of the wind whistling through the trees, the gentle bubbling of a nearby stream. It speaks of a tender love and quiet longing, and evokes a great feeling of nostalgia and sadness, yet peace. That's how you know it's a well-written, skillfully played piece
To me It felt a loneliness and a longing in the song, like when you really miss someone but you cannot see them, because you're unware of where that person is and you keep missing them and wanting to see them. It was a great product of the Guqin and the Chinese Flute, the sound it's absolutely beautiful.
Can you see it?? Can you imagine them, Lan Wangji playing the guqin with a soft nostalgic, almost sorrowful smile, remembering the days where although Wei Wuxian had died, he was still waiting for him? And then Wei Wuxian playing the flute while leaning on Lan Wangji’s shoulder/back? Wei Wuxian playing to express his past suffering but mostly asking for forgiveness? Asking Lan Wangji to forgive him for having disappeared for so long, for having caused him suffering… omg😭 and then imagine a single tear falling down his cheek, a tear of regret he had to let fall, regret of having made Lan Wangji wait so long, and another tear falling off Lan Wangji’s cheek while his nostalgic/almost sad look slowly becomes a happier one? It becomes so as he tilts his head slowly to look at the one leaning on him as he sees he’s finally with him? And then he stops playing and wipes off Wei Wuxian’s tear and when Wei Wuxian feels his smile he ‘cuddles his head’ into it, smiles weakly but with such feeling and whispers in a soft tone, with a happy and gentle smile, his eyes closed “Lan Zhan”😭😭 this music is great!!!😭
Guqin and flute seemed to bring me back to the ancient Chinese country thousands of years ago. Looking down from the sky, magnificent mountains and rivers.one beauty siting on the edge of the wooden bridge and dressing up .
you get different sized flutes which are in different keys. he started with the longer one which is lower in pitch and then switched to the shorter higher pitched one
@@mishachauhan3757 at one point, there was, in my eyes, because wei ying didn’t acknowledge he was feeling a type of love. also not the “” around “one sided”, meaning i know it wasn’t one sided in the end
Its like 4am, haven't slept since yesterday and im crying on my bed like th...😭😭😂 its a bittersweet moment right now.. The untamed is unforgettable ❤❤🌼
The beginning when the guqin is playing and the flute plays those breathy sounds - feels as if it’s WWX’s soul taking shape of the wind, rustling through bamboo leaves in those 13 years when LWJ searched for his spirit.... I feel like Chinese instruments give me such solace and inner peace. Anyone studying or working at home should try listening to guqin/xiao/dizi in the background for concentration and relaxation at the same time
AHHHHHHHHH I'm so happy they played a song from The Untamed/MDZS ;w; the WangXian feels are strong, if I close my eyes and listen then I can imagine it as Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji playing the instruments
That was like nothing else I have heard in my life, absolutely magical, majestic, enchanted. Those are a few of the best words I can think of to describe it. I'm impressed with Chinese music because I've never heard what the Chinese style is capable of doing. Amazing
Maybe you just can watch movie "our shining day" it movie about traditional music intruments in china and modern instrument, its exited when they together in same music between tradional and modern music instrument
One year anniversary of The Untamed live action version. This song has become part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.
Listening to this music, makes me imagine myself standing with eyes closed while inside some forest with fresh air and water with birds chirping...so relaxing...too relaxing to the point that i want to burst out i tears...am i still normal having that kind of thought?hahaha
damn, they even captured the emotions, some musicians, despite being good, they don't really have much emotions in their playing, but these two... wow, i love it so much that i'm actually crying while typing this lol
I must warn the people who wanna take a step into this world, mdzs world, you won't be able to move on I still live in this world,somehow...their stories, inspired me But the inspiration lead me to the world that i can't even reach,,,so i'm still here,,,,waiting for the day...to create my own story just like wy did
I feel like I was doing the 'Empathy' while watching The Untamed. Every time WuJi comes on, it always brings me back to a memory I didn't have but felt belonged. We may have different paths as time goes by, no matter how long, if I hear this melody, it will always overwhelm my heart and soul.
Hearing this makes me remember all the feelings I felt watching and reading everything related to this book. It just sounds like weiying and lanzhan are speaking their feelings to each other
Words cannot describe how beautiful the sounds are Omg .. just.. and knowing the story of this song in Untamed just.. just make me an emotional mess... ughh my hearttt my soul.. SVSNFBWKAIL!!
*The music you play has such a healing effect, it cheers people up and eases tension in these difficult times. You are as beautiful as the music you play. Even though the piece is instrumental, the beauty of the tune shines through. The complex sound produced by the guzheng adds extra depth to this song or any others you play. I feel privileged to be a member of your captive audience. I have no doubt your performances and hard work will lead you to a lot of success in the future. Any musician as talented as you are deserves to go far ! I am here in 2023, and will be here always.* 💛💛
No other drama will be as good as this one, name literally any drama that will influence me enough to buy 3 different dizi flutes all in the name of learning this song.
