There is one solve-able solution to that noise, get a pair of ear plugs. However, I just came back from travelling in Taiwan, and took The Airport MRT from Taipei to Taoyuan airport. I have to say the ride was not a smooth one, with the comparision to the Japanese normal train ride. Not what I would expect from a electric train, from what I've experienced. The workmanship requires some progressive upgrades.
The noise decibel level cannot properly controlled by the current noise barrier. The design of the current noise barrier is just transparent closed-tube, which creates like a sound box, increases the noise decibel when the train passes by every time. Meanwhile noise barrier in other countries such as Singapore and Malaysia and Hong Kong are totally different than Taoyuan Airport Metro
Thats one helluva mindfucking noise that causes subconscious unrest and fucks with your feelings and unsettling your aura. How many and how often do trains enter this vacuum cleaner like tube? I dont understand why the ministry does not gather at the area for a week to experience this "living" since clearly they can afford to at least build themselves a temporary tent camp and see how it feels. Ignoring these poor people is very wrong. Video was published over a year now, has it progressed to resolution yet? Cheapest would probably be to sound dampen that useless tunnel with sponges, cant the transportation ministry get money for that? Hope they did.
