Actually I haven't listened any good amount of new arranges that was made for Hidden Star in Four Seasons by our beloved doujin artists but I am also super happy to see that non-Japanese Touhou music artists are the ones who made initial fan works for our recent Touhou game that came out in last comiket and Eons Awake is one of them.
This is my first time I have enjoyed Crazy Backup Dancers arrange so much that I ended up sharing it in this channel again. Not sure why this is not something you would quite heard it before with lots of ear-pleasing big whiffs and metal mixture blended into this arrange. The way acoustic drums that was mixed into this EDM-style arrange is done very neat way too. There might be some mastering problems but the overal of arrange was an enjoyable ride from the start until the end of the song. I mean who would have thought that we would get chance to hear an arrangement of this theme that reflects the inner worlds of the characters in the game rather well and yeah I am talking about Nishida and Mai who are The All-Too-Dangerous Backup Dancers and that introduced as one of the stage 5 bosses in Hidden Star in Four Seasons.
Along with Satono, Mai is based after Matarajin's two servants, Teireida and Nishida respectively. Like her mythological counterpart, Mai is depicted holding a "bamboo plant" while Satono is depicted holding a "myouga plant" which is an edible ginger plant in their character portrait.
Satono and Mai are Okina's loyal servants. They used to be human children, but Okina's magic made them less human. They dance for Okina's sake and are essentially an extension of Okina's power. Mai is depicted as scatterbrained and quick to take action. Her abilities allow her to draw out one's vitality by dancing behind them.
Notably, Mai is the only girl in the series to use the male first person pronoun "Boku". Do not confuse her with Mai from Mystic Square.
